In Canada the SD differences can be huge once you start getting into 4GB/8GB territory. And good luck finding something like a Sandisk card when all you see are Panasonic ($$$$$) and HP ones.

They're up to 32GB SDHC cards, but they're pretty expensive. I would like to get one but don't have a need for that much space. Maybe if I still had my DSLR camera that takes 6MB pictures at 7 images per second. It used compact flash anyway.

I wouldn't mind something that small just as storage space. 32 GB is almost a third of my laptop's capacity.

I still get amazed at how fast storage technology is advancing. I once had a 64 MB flash drive that cost about $60 back in 2003. My mom took it away from me because she thought that I'd lose it or some such, IIRC.

I got a 1 GB flash drive free from my boss at my old Planetarium job. It's been immensely handy, I have to admit.

I remember out first digital camera having 16mb internal storage and we bought an 256mb expansion card. That seemed like hot stuff back then. It was sometime in 2003 I think. I had one of those really cheap kid's type cameras that had like 8mb internal memory and could hold 40 pictures... don't remember where my parents got it from. I used it a few times and realized the quality was so bad it wasn't even worth taking pictures with it.

CompactFlash is nice... you can use them as hard drives, and modern CF cards have more read/write cycles before failure than previous generations, too. =)

CF is popular in the music, professional video and photography industries... most consumer cameras, game systems, etc. use SD cards. One drawback of SD that I'd like to mention is how they have to come up with a new standard every time they reach a capacity limit (first SD, then SDHC, and now SDXC). =/

Olympus xD cards seem to have been phased out by now... and Sony's Memory Stick is still around, but maybe not for long xP

I got a nice little 2GB card for my new camera. Sadly, it won't get filled much because the only time I really go photo crazy is at anime conventions. I think I got a large enough capacity though, which is a good thing.

I find it absolutely hilarious looking at the SD card section at Future Shop.

I could buy a 360 or an iPod Touch for the same price as two of the 16GB SDHC's.

I have a 2GB memory stick and a 4GB memory stick. And for some reason, the 2GB memory stick is larger than my 4GB memory stick O.o

You mean those squares that can hold about 3 word documents? I barely remember what they look like.

I wish the dog tag USB drive from the SC2 collectors edition had more storage space, I would use it more often.

Walking up to a bus stop with one of my friends because he doesn't know the area and as we walk past the pub, one of my friends starts waving at us from the seats outside. My friend continued to the bus stop and I headed towards the pub. It was my friend and 3 girls and one of the girls was PISSED. She kept talking about how horny she was and was desperate for sex. The bottle contained more than JUST Smirnoff. Jack Daniels, rum and Strongbow, alongside the Smirnoff, mixed together to form a potentially lethal combination, and she had drank a quarter of a bottle of that, which is insane. And the stuff she came out with was equally insane. An elderly man walked past with his wife and the first thing that came out of her mouth?

"Is your penis wrinkled?"

I didn't know whether to laugh or run away. Not ha-ha laughter, the disbelief laughter.

She also hurled a glass bottle and it shattered in a CAR PARK. One car nearly had its tyre impaled. She was even going in to try and flirt with the bartender to get more alcohol. One guy came out and told us to leave. So, we all left to head down to another bus stop, with the girl still with a quarter of that bottle in her hand. Which she then shatters off a wall behind a bus stand, in plain daylight, with everybody watching. She had no idea how loud she really was, and to top it all off, she nearly flashed in front of the bus stop. And, according to her, she's going to start drinking tomorrow night and walk into the Ethics class pissed.

It was like watching a train wreck. It started bad and got so much worse.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that the bottle of alcohol was smuggled into college too.
