"A horrible person". That's what it says. "A horrible person."

We weren't even testing for that.

I understand enough Japanese to bang out a sensible translation most of the time. I see there's a category for pages needing translations already, I'll keep an eye on that...

The Rockman 7 proto can really use one, I know. There's a dialogue section for that.

It may be a good idea to look into userboxes at some point, for indicating how well people can do certain things. e.g.: "Japanese translator", "Skilled in 6502 (NES)", "Wiki formatting guru", etc.

That way we could set up a page for instructions on contacting those people who are good at what is needed; e.g., if you need something made on the wiki, you could look for "Skilled Wiki formatters" and I'd be listed under it.

Thoughts?

So, for example, if you had information, but needed someone who's good with words to put it together into something readable, you'd search for "Cunning linguists"?

I like this idea a hell of a lot, honestly. So long as the people who list this don't mind being contacted, I think we're all fine and dandy.

And Supa, I ought to slap you. XD

Hey guys! I've implemented a random featured article system. There are two blurbs so far, one for Super Mario Bros. 3 and one for Super Mario World. If you'd like to write one for one the featured articles, that'd be cool.

Featured article stuff starts here. Featured article blurbs should go in Template:FeaturedRandom/Game Name

Can I request a box for 'unskilled nobody?'

Should a note or mention about translators be added to the front page of the wiki? Not just for Japanese, at that. (Though at least if you fall back on the online translators, they don't seem to mangle the other languages as much as they do Japanese...)

Userboxes are good, but please put them all under Template:Userbox, like {{Userbox/JapaneseTranslator}}. {{Userbox}} could then be a generic userbox template which you use on the subpage. Its arguments are the colors, the picture, the text, etc.

Some ideas:
- Japanese translators, possibly various degrees (none, can read kana, can translate?)
- Understands ASM
- Screenshot Master
- Wiki formatting guru ~Xkeeper
- ROM Hacker (has/had a rom hacking project)

As for categories, every most userboxex will put the user in a category; the categories sould all be under the category [[Category:Userboxes]], I guess.

"Understands ASM" should not be a userbox -- instead, there should be userboxes for different architectures, as Xk mentioned (6502, 68k, ARM, etc).

Also, "ROM Hacker" may be too generic as a userbox, since any old moron can be qualified for it -- someone who can design a level using Lunar Magic may be a "ROM Hacker", but does that make them useful to find unused content in a game for TCRF?

I was going for the generic ones first, but if you think the specific ones will be more useful, we should have them.

Also: {{Userbox}}. See {{Userbox/First userbox ever}} for example usage. If you have any good ideas, do them. As for userpage categories, remember to put them in <includeonly>.

I'm guessing the userboxes

The point wasn't to advertise but to inform. I don't care if they don't end up used. I've just been lazy to make some.

We've finally got a console with 100 different games on it! The NES section!

It's a small milestone to celebrate, but I definitely feel like it's one worth celebrating.

So, what should I use for tile viewing of PSX games? I'm unfamiliar with this process and I'd like to look at SOTN.

Tile Molester. Also a good idea is TIMView: here. Not sure how well that'll work though.

I'd recommend Sonic Molester, which is just Tile Molester with some extra functionality.

Tile Molester only functions correctly on graphics that are 8bpp or less. The same is most likely true for any derivative of it.
