For strictly research purposes only

I don't contribute to wikis much, but I can both help this wiki and Bulbapedia as well, if I start to find things. I wanna see if I can dig through Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum to see if there are any leftover goodies, and it seems like something most people haven't touched.

Thing is, I don't know where to start. Any suggestions on tools to use to tear NDS roms apart? Currently all I have is an old version VGMTrans, which isn't much.

Personally, I'm interested as I've found "Seq_d_ice" (it's blank, nothing interesting) in the music files and I'm wondering if it were used for an ice cave that was cut from the final. I doubt it, but ya never know what can be found until you look.

People already found MOST of the unused stuff--namely the third Gastrodon, references to Johto which went unused, and other misc. unused graphics. Not to mention the R/S/E title screen music. There might be more though of course.

NSMB Editor can also help you...
Aside from the NSMB-specific features it can handle the Nitro filesystem and narcs. both extracting and replacing...
Just open the ROM, ignore the rom region warning, go to File Browser and there you go. To edit a NARC file, double-click it...

Speaking of R/S/E stuff, I'm fairly interested in unused stuff from those; didn't you say you once found code for wild double battles in Emerald, Kei?
