The two-day event will provide you the opportunity to speak with shuttle technicians, engineers, astronauts, and managers, and to view the launch of space shuttle Discovery to the International Space Station, targeted for 4:40 p.m. EDT, Nov. 1.


So yea, I got picked!!!!!! So freaking happy about this. Hubby did not get picked but we're both going to up there.

I was hoping to maybe crash at a Juler's house in the area, but it looks like we might get a hotel instead and go a day early.

This means I have all day Saturday to meet up with a Juler in the area and to hang out. Plus maybe Sunday & Monday if I'm not too busy.

Any takers?

Oh and Twitter is freaking awesome!!

Maybe some people are too busy/poor to travel even a short distance, or people just don't take the steps to actually plan out a meeting. But yeah, 2 people in the same city as each other could meet up pretty easily.

The more I think about it, I don't think my hubby should come with me. He wants to go to Universal for two days but we're really low on money. I would love to go to Universal the day after the launch, but yea, money. We're getting $100 back due to rewards with Wachovia, but that only covers one ticket. I've been saving money for this trip but I want to use it while at KSC and not for Universal.

Thing is, he's already taken the time off from work (which is paid). This isn't a huge thing since he can just relax at home.

I haven't gone anywhere without him since I went to Vegas for GameStop a few years ago. I'm starting to think that I want to go up there on my own. Not looking forward to driving about 3 to 4 hours, but still. But I know if I'll tell him, he won't listen and would still come with me.

The launch is delayed by a day. Originally my husband and I were going to go to Universal on Tuesday but since the launch is delayed everything is pushed by one day.

Saturday 30th - Get badges check out KSC and ???? and hang out with Peardian
Sunday 31st - More KSC and ???? maybe hang out with Peardian again? Or Air Show at Coco Beach
Monday 1st - NASA stuff
Tuesday 2nd - NASA stuff and launch
Wednesday 3rd - Universal then head home

The hotel we're staying at is only booked until Tuesday morning so we're out of a place to sleep.

But super thanks to Peardian, we're staying one night with him and his roommates.

Freaking awesome.
