Servers cost less now than they did five years ago. They're also more efficient. And yes, adding people to the system will cost more. But you know what else happens when you get more customers? MORE INCOME. Not to mention the fact that they've recently killed support for all original Xbox titles, something that should be reducing overhead.

How is the simple act of defending Sony for OtherOS crap blind fanboyism? If you just have no argument, I can understand. But stating that "defending X for action Y" is automatically fanboyism? Stupid.
How is defending Sony for removing an advertised feature anything OTHER than fanboyism? Fucking fact of the matter is that there are people who bought it purely for the "OtherOS" feature, and more people who bought it with OtherOS being a factor in their decision. What is your justification for a company removing a feature? The security argument is bullshit - They've already hacked into Sony's system via the USB slot now. Are you going to defend Sony if they decide to put a software update that disables USB Ports, for "Security?"

I'd like to know how I'm biased. Am I biased because I lost a feature on a system that I own? Am I biased because I own and enjoy playing on different consoles? I'll freely criticize any damn console I want. I'll bitch about DRM and boycott all PC titles Ubisoft puts out. I'll criticize Nintendo over their crappy online "support" and minuscule harddrive that's practically useless for more than two downloadable games, and any publisher that stupid shallow gameplay revolving around a controller that was updated more than halfway into its lifespan to work properly. And I'll certainly Microsoft pushing a console with an originally failure rate that could be pushing 50% in the original release, and for raising prices when it seems like they should be going down. ____________________ |
