It's alright to cry sometimes
I thought this was really cool. Also did you know that when you "fake" smile at someone it is actually a evolutionary signal that you are not a threat? |

That's quite an interesting take on why we cry (not from the weirdo commenter Gabu mentioned). It always fascinates me as to why we do the seemingly common or simple things we do. It's interesting to me to see why and how like that.

Yeah, unfortunately NPR attracts a lot of jerks despite the fact that they are one of the only reputable news sources we have in America. I really like NPR because they don't just focus on who is winning in the polls, but rather on science, art, and community. They also go after both Liberals and Conservatives from a journalistic standpoint which I respect to the fullest.
I agree Rick. Personally I find human and animal behavioral and evolutionary psychology fascinating. It is really interesting to learn about the seemingly innocuous behavior we exhibit every day.
Did you know that outside of childhood, wild cats do not purr? Cubs purr to get the attention of their mother, but when they grow up they cease this kind of behavior. Domesticated cats however, use purring to manipulate their owners into performing certain behaviors just like they would do for their mothers. Also, kittens of a deaf mother cat are more likely to not purr or meow at all because they know that their mother does not respond to that kind of stimuli. |

Welcome to online comments. Especially on news sites, for some reason. CNN's are typically atrocious... I've only looked at Fox's once, and I think I may have burnt out my eyes afterward.
As for the actual article, it's not that surprising. ____________________ |

Most of the comments on sites like these really are facepalm-worthy. I never read them. They're not worth my time.

msnbc's are the same way. Too many commenters, not enough neurons to go around.
