OK, I know this thread has been done before. So, if you've replied to these threads in an unbroken chain dating all the way back to I1, feel free to ignore this one. However, I
am curious about the usernames of some of our
newer members, as I think it's been long enough since this thread's last incarnation.
Anyway, as I state in the wall of text in my profile, "Terra" comes from the character Terra Branford in Final Fantasy VI

I first played FF6 just a few years ago and almost immediately identified with Terra. I'm not very imaginative with names and I tend to steal names of characters or other things (including an
operating system component once). As a result, the name Terra is usually taken in a lot of places, so for large stuff like AIM and Twitter I'll use Terra1041, which is just Terra plus my Jul ID.
Some other names I use:
TKB - My initials, used for ROM hacking (although newer hacks are dual-credited TKB/Terra) and at board2 (when I wanted to leave Jul back in November-ish and didn't want to
completely give myself away).
Taryn - My first name, which used to be my primary alias in 2008-2009 until I decided not to use it here. Still used at Project Aon, not that I usually go there anymore.
Helghast Warning - Derived from Lone Wolf (as in Let's Play Lone Wolf). Helghast, which is both the singular and the plural word, are shape-shifting creatures impervious to normal weapons. I used it at Sierra Planet because I had been banned there before and was masking my identity, using my study abroad in Germany as a convenient disguise.
Nowadays I sign up for pretty much everything as Terra or Terra1041 though, because of how much Jul has dominated my online life

Except things that are very RL-ish, like job and bank stuff. I dumped my old E-mail address not only because people might think I was born in 1993 instead of 1987, but also because I had a problem giving it over the phone and using it for serious stuff.
