Ack.

I really don't know what to think about this ... but I'm not getting a good feeling about it now. I just can't help thinking ... knowing Intel, how much longer until hardware-enhanced "security" evolves into even more hardware-based DRM?

McAfee may as well have been DRM as-is, given how it cuts out access to so much stuff, often erroneously, and causes so many performance hits.

Oh, God.

If nothing else, it'd be great if McAfee didn't run on AMD CPUs any more.

Mostly what I remember about McAfee is it being 1 of the programs that dramatically slowed down the old Compaq.

I simply pray to God that McAssfee isn't put into Intel processors somehow. Long shot, but I think they'll find some sort of way to have all computers running on an Intel be forced into buying McAssfee.

I'm fine with my ZoneAlarm, kthx. It sometimes sort of slows down my computer, but I've only had one full-force virus attack in the ten years this family bought it.
