Requiring less time =/= improved

Some of us enjoy grinding.

Some of us don't, however, and breaking items down into easily-stored components sounds like an awesome idea to me!

If they had professions that you had to grind, it would become more like WoW and lose some of its originality. I like the idea of fighting to gain their trust and advance their crafting for you. Can't wait to see more stuff from Blizzcon this year.

So I really want to get excited for this.. but I've never been able to play through D2.. should I give it another try? And I mean.. more than an hour's try.

Yeah, Diablo II is much more fun when playing with friends. Solo questing and killing just aren't that great. Things drag on and there's always that notion in the back of your mind "I should have made a necro!". My brother and I played through the whole thing with a friend of ours. It helped that we all "worked" at a computer training company and our friend's parents were the owners. We would play it most of the day and then I cleaned the training rooms while they worked on the PCs.

Anyway, Diablo III is looking to be a good rehash of the everything you loved from Diablo II, plus more.

Isn't grinding why you don't play most JRPGs?

Except that I beat Persona 3, Disgaea 1/2, and many more. One of three things need to exist for me to like grinding:
A) A strong social aspect (Makes it tolerable because you are grinding with friends and fighting for rares to drop)
B) A strong enthralling storyline (Diablo 3 is not going to have this, Blizzard has yet to craft an amazing storyline that I really care about)
C) The grinding being for side content (See WoW, where things such as certain achievements and other goodies require grinding)

D1 only requires a bit of grinding in specific places, and D2 can actually be accomplished with no grinding if you focus on leveling Adell (Grinding IS necessary post-story though)

The grinding in P3 is kept fresh by random dungeon layouts, to give you a constant sense of exploring.

The grinding in other games? Not so much.

If you can find somebody who knows the game a bit, but will let you enjoy the game's dialog, you should be good. I've played many single-player games to near-completion (or completion), but the game's true fun comes from the multiplayer.

Well, for now, I've started a single-player game. And I'm wondering why I couldn't get into it before, cause I'm not having that problem now.
