What's your preferred way to scroll around Web pages and files?
I usually use the scroll wheel, but my scroll wheel isn't working very well anymore. It can scroll up usually, but sometimes it screws up when it scrolls down.
Clicking on the little scroll arrows is my last choice. I usually prefer to drag the box if I can't use the scroll wheel, or use keyboard keys, which is what I used to usually do before I had a scroll wheel on my mouse
I tend to bounce quite randomly between using page up/down, dragging the bars around, and using the scroll wheel. I literally can't vote for one since I don't know which I use most.
I can not function without a scroll wheel on my mouse. It feels like the 1990s whenever I sit at a computer, go to scroll something and its missing! Where's that FFFFFUUUUUUUU!!! pic when you need it?

I usually use the scroll wheel, but I can also use the up/down arrows or page up/down, depending on how I'm sitting or what's on the computer I'm using.
Occasionally I'll use the thing on laptops where you slide your finger along the edge of the trackpad but it's rarely reliable.

Hell yeah.
And I actually scroll using the wheel, but middle click is awesome.
I use a scroll wheel 98% of the time. If I'm using my laptop trackpad, the two-finger drag-to-scroll works really well too.
If I end up without a scroll wheel I use whatever I perceive to be the quickest ... which is usually just page up/down except on a really long page.
e: oh yeah. I can't use a regular scroll wheel anymore either because I've gotten too used to a tilt wheel that can also scroll sideways. I'll end up trying to tilt a regular scroll wheel and it doesn't work.
I always use the scroll wheel for all of my scrolling needs. I have it set to scroll really fast so that it doesn't take forever to get to the bottom of really long pages .
My first mouse with a scroll wheel was the one that came with my second HP computer back in 2006. Since then, I've gotten so used to them, it just feels weird not having one. =/

Same here. Scrolling horizontally on any computer without a tilt wheel is annoying.
I used a computer once whose mouse had a actual separate horizontal scroll wheel. It was kinda neat, but the mouse itself was worn out to crap.

I had one of those. It was weird, it had two wheels, both were vertically aligned, but one scrolled the page horizontally instead. It was kinda nice... Then BOTH wheels died in about a month.
I had an old computer that counted a middle-click as a double-click. Then, later I got a newer one which pulled up that scroller thing. I'm using that somewhat now that my scroll wheel isn't working well.

I had an old mouse where if you flicked the scroll wheel hard enough, it would unlock and scroll to the bottom of the page really fast. Incredibly useful for getting to the bottom of the page quickly. You could also push it to the left or right to scroll horizontally. Too bad the mouse broke ¬¬

I actually remember being able to do this too, for some reason. Not quite sure when I did it, though.
I'll occasionally use the middle click-arrow method if I'm on a Windows machine, though.
