Warning: No trolling! Or else! I mean it! Please respect the religious beliefs and opinions of everyone posting in this thread. This is not a place for insulting people based on their religion, nor is it a place for you to try to convert people to your religion. Violators will be eaten by the gremlins. Alive.

Anyway, what are your religious beliefs, if you have any?

I'm an atheist I never really followed religion. Despite being from a Catholic family, I was raised with a secular upbringing and wasn't required to attend church. I don't believe in a god. Spirits, maybe. An all-powerful deity of anything and everything, no. I grew up in a pretty religious area, though. I was often hated and disrespected for being an atheist. Even in college, I got that stuff from a few people in classes and stuff.

I'm a "Christian" by the standard definition of the term in that I believe in Jesus as our savior. Its too late for me to coherently post more on my beliefs and disbeliefs so I'll leave that for tomorrow. For now, I'll just say I'm not a Christian-as-usual like most think we are.

I really don't know.

I believe in karama and reincarnation.

Could there be a God or higher beings, yes. Possible that they exist on another plane of existence. Same goes for heaven and hell. They could exist as another realm of reality.

I've been bouncing back and forth between Hinduism and Buddhism. I'm still very unclear and I really should sit down one day and read up on both to determine which fits me.

I seriously don't know. At all.

I seriously think agnosticism might be for me. I don't know if there's someone somewhere running things or anything. If I have to say I lean toward any religion, it would probably be Christianity, and that's very slight.

Being raised in an atheist family (and an atheist country, about 60% no religion), I'm atheist. I have through about religion, but it seems... unnecessary to me. There's so many religions it's hard to choose one and just trust it, without being raised with it. Then again, I never felt the need to have a religion (which is something I never understood) - so I don't have one, simple as that.
Of course, that doesn't mean I "believe that there's no God". It's just that I don't care if one is there, and if so, which one(s) from the many religions. I'm not sure if there's a specific name for that, but I just use the atheist sticker because everyone does.

This is a hard question. I do find god hard to belief but at the same time I find myself asking for god's help at times, sometimes I would like to call myself a Christian but if god does exist then why are thier so many unanswered questions regarding the existance of god?

Parents are very, VERY religious, but all that it seems to do for them is cause a lot of undue stress (however, they both work for the church and have to help set up the weekly services.)

I dunno. I think religion is just wishful thinking at best. It's one of those things where ... if it works for you, great, but it's not for me. I was raised around it and after being part of it for eighteen years without there being any kind of benefit to anyone, and seeing how much stress it put on my family, ... I decided that I didn't need any of it, and I was right; things have only gotten better for me since then, and when I have taken action on my own. Anything positive that's ever happened to me I've had to bring about myself, or with the help of friends.

Maybe I could take up pastafarianism.

I guess I'm someone who was raised Christian but is growing increasingly agnostic the more I actually learn about Christianity. I believe there is a God, and I certainly believe the universe has a lot more to it than we can ever comprehend just due to its sheer vastness, but I really don't think that of all the millions and trillions of different sects of different religions, that only 1 is absolutely right and all the others are condemned forever. I see that God is real, but religion is man-made and flawed. I guess you can say that I'm pro-spiritual but anti-religion if that makes sense. I don't believe that anyone can know the ultimate truth, and anyone who claims to is a lier and a cheat. I also believe in always questioning and thinking about things, even if we know we can never truly answer them which is why I appreciate philosophy, but I absolutely hate the dogma of forcing your conclusions on others, as well as blind obedience, which is why I can't stand the practices of most religions. I guess you can just say that I believe in educating myself.

Raised Catholic, though I don't really stick to the rituals and such. What matters to me is not the prayers or the promise of eternity, but the true meaning behind it. Love! Love love love love~ I love love. I don't know whether or not an all powerful being exists and watches over us, but I don't really care, because I believe in what it represents, the power of love and life. Always stay optimistic and believe in the power of the life!

I was raised Christian but the more I read into it, the more I started to realize that half of the Bible just sounds... Made up. I feel that there is an underlying truth to all religions, that they're all bound together but nobody wants to see the similarities. I guess you could consider me a Universalist of sorts, but I'm also not very serious about it.

My mom's side was Eastern Orthodox, and my dad's side was Catholic... however, neither side was very religious in the first place, but I do consider myself an agnostic. I used to be Wiccan, but I eventually felt that it didn't fit my very well...

Been the token Muslim on these boards for 9 years.

Yea my family is traditionally Muslim but we believe religion is personal. My parents taught me I should always question so that I am comfortable with what I believe in and don't follow anything blindly. I think those are important concepts with Islam. I believe God would rather you be an atheist who is resolute in his/her convictions as opposed to someone who blindly follows Islam.

Want my pastafarian hat? ;D

But yeah. Pretty much agnostic / Christian. There are lots of good lessons to live by, but others are pretty weird or stupid. Also I believe God exists only as a creation of humanity and doesn't physically exist. Just mentally.

That is the insanely religious wing of the family, of course. Not just religious. Insanely religious.

Atheist =/= Scientologist

Your cousin fails at religious math.

I ticked Neopaganism because I agree most with some of their tenets.

My grandparents and the children from my grandmother's first marriage are all Mormon, but any part of my family tree after that is pretty much Agnostic or Atheist. My mother raised my sister and I with a lot of freedoms available to us.

I know people from all across the board, and we debate amongst ourselves often over who's 'right' and such, in good fun.
