I'd kinda advise against using a client built into a multi-protocol client. They usually tend to be less featured and stable than dedicated IRC clients. Shit, mIRC has NEVER crashed on me.

It just pokes you to register. mIRC 6.2 isn't too bad about it, and it's eady to ignore.

Besides, from what I hear, X-chat based clients are awful on Windows. On Linux and OS X they seem to be pretty fine, though.

Nagware is when it pops up a nag window, asking you to register constantly. You may be familiar with them in WinRAR or WinZip. =P

I'm not sure if mIRC's is as easily removable, though.

With WinRAR and Reshacker, you can just kill off the resource that brings up the dialog. I actually did that last night.

I had WinZIP at one point on my old 486, but I switched to WinRAR even on that.

I was surprised at just how much would actually work on that thing...
