For those of you that have them, which do you use, and how have your experiences been with them?

I originally used to use Logitech Dual Action controllers, of which I went through three (lasting about half a year to a full one). Their d-pads are absolute shit, from my experiences, after a while.

I just gave up and used my PSP for a while after the third one decided to die. No issue here, aside from lack of buttons.

After that, I used my PS3's DualShock 3. As much as I can't stand the console now, I still deeply miss that thing. It's literally the greatest controller I've ever had the pleasure of using.

Once I lost that to trading in my PS3, I grabbed up an X-Kim GPTL-01GM for about $10, and it actually has MORE features than my old Dual Action controllers... not to mention a good d-pad. Its driver readme is extremely badly written, and I don't trust them worth a damn, but the actual pad itself is very good quality so far, ESPECIALLY for the price. I don't actually use any of the added features, but the price was enough of a point for me to grab it up.

I have two Logitech Dual Action gamepads... I bought my first one in 2008, and it still works great. Bought a second one later on, since I wanted it for two-player action =D

I also have a Logitech Dual Action. I got it way back in 2008, and it still works well for me. I haven't had any problem with the D-pad.

Before that, I used a WingMan Precision for about 5 years until the D-pad actually fell out of the controller.

Logitech RumblePad II. Too old for me to say how long I've had it, but it still works like a charm. The D-Pad works great, too.

I have a Logitech and a Tremon (I mostly use the Tremon because it's smaller and I have small hands), but since I mostly only use them to play older games, they don't have anything fancy like analog sticks or rumble support.

For playing emulated N64 games, I have an N64 Controller USB Adapter that lets me use an actual N64 controller with my PC.

I have a thing that allows you to use a PS2 controller, an Xbox controller, and Gamecube controller, it works as a hub too but it is 1.0. I got it at Wall-mart for 10 dollars. I have not used it for anything really. I want to get something for Snes controllers to plug into.

I also have a Wingman Force 3D joystick, it was my brothers and sisters.

I have an old sidewinder plug n' play game pad

besides being oddly oriented due to ergonomics, it works great


all my other gamepads and joysticks use that old gaming port --
they don't work with any computers that are actually worth using them on

I had an old game port joystick that was like those old C64 joysticks, with the huge grip and the button on the stalk. I'm not a fan of those, I prefer D-pads or small analogue sticks. Usually D-pads.

I have a USB controller, but it's a lumpy piece of crap so I stopped using it and plugged in my PS3 controller. Then, I stopped using emulators and took it back downstairs. I recently started playing I Wanna Be The Guy with the LPOC controller but BROKE the right analog stick So I'm back to using the PS3 controller.

Anyway, I had a Logitech Dual Action gamepad for a while. It worked OK but the dpad sucked, and then it finally started screwing up and the dpad lost responsiveness.

I then went to using a PS1 dualshock through a USB adapter, which was great, until all the buttons got a kinda spongy feeling to them over time and started being a bit dodgy, like releasing unless I'm pushing really hard.

Now I use a Japanese black Wii Classic Controller Pro through one of those Mayflash classic controller adapters. It's very nice.

I have a modern relative to that Saitek controller. Way fancier, still shows a clear lineage immediately. It's about the nearest Dualshock+Saturn hybrid I've encountered. Except for no rumble.

I pretty much use only controller converters for PS2 controllers on my PC. Every PC controller I've ever gotten has been a piece of crap and never worked correctly. Once I got my converters a few years ago, I've never looked back.

I had a Logitech dual-action controller for a while but after only a few weeks the joysticks stopped working at all. After that I got a generic $10 analog-stick-less gamepad, and I also tried using a USB converter so I could use a DualShock2, which worked fine until the converter also gave up the ghost (after a few years, though.)

Now I'm using a wired XBox 360 controller, which is actually really good; lots of Windows games actually have full support for it, including rumble ... mostly games that also exist on consoles like Fallout 3 or Bioshock, but also games like GRiD. I think I use it too much though since my X button is getting a little mushy.

I've used a ton of USB PC gamepads and they're all just not worth it.

Do yourself a favor and get a dualshock 3 or a Dualshock 2 with a PS2->USB adaptor, best gaming investment I've made in a very long time.

I used to have a USB NES controller and a USB SNES one as well, but I think I left those in Seattle. Nowadays I use the XBox 360 Street Fighter pad.

Logitech, possibly a dual-action. It works well, even if the cord is peeling off at the controller and exposing the wire. That's where electrical tape comes in handy!
