Blockbuster including games in its by-mail rentals

If you're receiving your, um, "blockbusters" via snail mail you'll soon be able to add your Xbox, PlayStation, and Wii games to the mix (and by "soon," we mean "now"). Ready to add the latest installment of Splinter Cell to your copy of The Bucket List? Well, you should probably get out of the house more.

Not a bad idea, it might help boost their sales of "Blockbuster By Mail" and help them compete with Netflix and Gamefly.

Who knows, we may soon have a "Play it now" feature like Netflix has the "Watch it now" feature for PS3. Download the game and play it for an alloted period of time.

My blockbuster never has a lot of copies so I'm still sticking with Gamefly.

I would get both but, no.

My dad used to be a store manager at a Blockbuster, and he knows well that Blockbuster is pretty much going down the drain. With services Netflix and Gamefly there's no incentive for people to physically go to the store and pick up/drop it off themselves. Blockbuster's already made a desperate attempt to make a Netflix service, and I've also seen a Blockbuster machine at a gas station similar to Redbox.

Unfortunately, my dad was laid off as they cut down stores, but he got 6 months pay in severance. Better that he was laid off when he could have gotten severance than down the road when Blockbuster finally gets its final nail in the coffin.

Blockbuster does seem to be researching the competition a bit. I have never used it so I don't really know what stuff they have. I like buying my games thank you.
