I didn't know this before, but after given the choice between two missions on a single planet (basically, listen to X instead of Y), you can finish the mission and go in old missions and play the other choice/see cinematics for that choice.
You don't get any credits out of it, but at least you aren't mission on anything.
This was just the same as the Ghost missions in BroodWar. The difference was just that you have no permanent cloaking feature like the Dark Templars (which could not be built in StarCraft yet, just in the Protoss campaign as special units) - or the second BW mission in the Terran campaign, where you had to steal those Battlecruisers. A limited number of nukes, vessels and other stuff to do, as simply killing doesn't help if there's detectors above tanks.
I wished the SC2 narration would have been as snappy as in SC1 (think just Kerrigan in one of the first missions - where she reads Raynor's mind, telling "You pig!" in the german version) - just listening to Mengsk's orders for his fleet was so bad-ass. Otherwise I am not too disappointed from the SC2 campaign.
Discovered some really cool Tower Defense maps last night. Stayed up a little too late playing them, but thats alright. Each one takes over 30 minutes and we still couldn't beat them on Easy or Very Easy. The customization of the map creator is really cool.
On one of them, when you fail, the lava that was surrounding your land raises and blows up all your cannons.

Has anybody tried making a custom map and playing as the hybrids? Its interesting. While they have their own phrases when you click on them, when you try to make them move, they use Archon quotes. They have some fun abilities and attacks though.
Also, interestingly there are also "Tauren Marines" Which are two legged cows dressed as Marines. They have no portraits but say some really hilarious (and often parodied Marine phrases.) things.
Also, apparently Diablo from the Diablo game series is in the game's campaign editor too though he lacks attacks, a portrait, and animations beyond standing ones. You CAN move him though. There's also a thing called a Terra Tron, giant fighting robot, which I looked up on youtube and apparently in a Starcraft II beta, it was formed from several terran buildings combining. It has animations still, it just is unusable in the levels. You can't even click it. It is the largest Terran unit ever though.

These were both part of the April fools jokes this year. They had in game animations, so obviously they were rendered at some point. I guess they're an easter egg in the custom map creator. I'll have to try this out tonight.
Indeed. I need to play more, period. I think about it and watch videos online, but I've yet to have an abundance of time when I'm sober, have the inclination, and the table-space for a mouse.
Hit me up if you guys want to play sometime, I'll have to post my info tonight or at lunch from home.
I have a decent build order that works on anyone going for a non-rush strategy. Takes about 6-7 minutes to build up 3 Void Rays and by then I can usually win. If they don't scout with a few Zealots or do a Reaper rush, I can take them out easily. I put a pylon as close to their base as I can and make my Stargate there. That way when the Void Rays come in, I can have them behind their base instantly and kill it before they can do much about it. This works well at my level, but if I break in to the silver league I doubt it will work. Going to start working on a more rounded strategy.

That's kinda dangerous against other protoss, as 4-gate builds seem to be popular.
Like I said, it tends to work when people are going for mass rather than rush. I can have 3 void rays out while they're still starting their expansion for more income. The key is to go straight for their base, you move in directly behind the minerals. I've had people surrender before their base even died. But once I break in to the silver league (wife played my account before she got her own, lost 3 of my placement matches and then 4 in a row after), this won't work very well since skilled players almost always send a small scout army before they start to mass.

I like sending large attack forces to destroy Protoss player's Pylons, Probes, and Nexus. Without these, protoss can't construct anymore units. I also like to make my Science Vessels Irradiate each other (as it doesn't affect them) and fly over enemy biological units. It is deadly. Especially if I have a whole bunch of them.
Also, its never a good idea to rush a base with just one type of unit. It may work on less experienced players and the computer but more experienced players will know your unit's weak points and exploit them. That's why its a good idea to attack with various types of units when rushing.
