The comments there are... wow

I'm pretty sure the article was written with sarcasm, but I get the feeling that the people writing the comments believe wholeheartedly in what they're saying

Edit: Some people seem sarcastic... I think? My brain is fried today

Did I mention Osama Bin Laden opposes the WTC mosque? No?

Makes it sort of ironic for those who think this mosque is on the same side as him, eh?

I get so tired of people confusing the religion of Islam with the government of Islam. There is a enormous distinction between the two. Islam is a religion of peace that shuns violence and encourages peace. We are still acting like the European Crusaders; every time the Muslims offer an olive branch we toss it down and spit on it. Every time the peaceful majority comes along we declare their religion and way of life sinful and against God. I mean when will it end? Will we ever get past the legacy of the Crusades?

I am sure that if America would just stop butting into other Muslim countries social structures the world would be a better place. You can't teach people to rise up and fight injustice. They have to realize the dream of a peaceful future themselves. What we term "Foreign Affairs" is a fancy word for meddling and it only makes things worse. Sorry for the mini-rant there. I just get tired of Muslim haters. My best friend is a Sunni Muslim and she gets so much shit from it. It really pisses me off. She has had people spit on her and stuff.

P.S. When I say "we" in the above statement it is a general term for the American governing collective, not individual people that may take offense to being paired in with that group.
