I'm a beginner hacker. Well, not even a beginner, the most I've done is move some objects around in Toad's Tool and imported some levels with the OBJ importer. Anywho, I've given it some thought and decided I wanted to really get in on this hacking business, but.. oh man, I'm confused.

I'll tell you what I know first, and maybe you guys can fill me in on missing details.

As far as basic moving objects around in Toad's Tool, I got that. I can also change the behaviors within Toad's Tool, but usually the animations are... wonky (I replaced Mips behavior with Pink Bob Ombs, and it looked like it had a seizure.)

I can import levels of course, mess with the spawn and all that, give it water, etc.

And that's about all I know in all honesty. It's a little sad, really. From what I understand I'll need a hex editor in order to fix some issues such as the animations, what should I know about that, and do I need prior knowledge of hex editing to get started?

In short, what I really need to know is how to make NPC's, warps, and a little knowledge on Hex Editing and how it can help me hack. Hopefully someone can decode the mess above and fill me in.

Thanks
