I wouldn't even have to look because I allready know never to update my Wii
Plus you know all updates in the future will be directed at stoping the few people who gets new features by hacking thier Wii instead of listening to the millions of people who actually want new features to made by Nintendo

The only reason my Wii has 4.0 on it right now is because I bought it like that. Since my other one, you know... Otherwise I'd be on 3.2 or something similar right now.

I had updated from 3.x to 4.2--I wasn't even using any homebrew for months, so I thought screw it.

Then I changed my mind after a good period of time and installed the HBC and a few emulators. I haven't planned on updating since then.

Seriously.

I did look it up, and I new it would do that, I deliberately updated because I wanted to find a way to get homebrew on 4.3, not to mention I have all the emulators and roms on my computer anyway so it woudnt matter if I couldnt play them on wii.

shit, I didnt even NEED to look it up, anyone with a general knowledge of the Nintendo wii knows that an update is just another attempt to kill off HBC

Well you know, it would still be a good idea to look up and see if the very thing you were trying hadn't already been tried by hundreds of more experienced people first. You should have known just by GLANCING Wiibrew.org that the Hackmii installer you used does not work on 4.3 no matter how you try to implement it. In fact, its pretty safe to say that if no one on GBAtemp or Wiibrew.org has figured out a solution yet, then nothing you come up with is going to work either. Especially if all your "brilliant plan" consists of is trying to run somebody else's software that they already know doesn't work on 4.3.

Do you even know the down and dirty mechanics of what makes homebrew possible, or did you mod your Wii just by following a guide somewhere? Nothing wrong with following a guide, don't get me wrong, but unless you actually know what you're doing and are trying to actually code something new that will either re-introduce the old exploits, or make use of some new exploit or IOS on 4.3, then you are NOT going to find a way to get homebrew on 4.3. Anything you just find on the internet and try to install is going to be designed to work with 4.2 or lower.

Tl;dr Educating yourself is a GOOD THING!

I upgraded to 4.0 for SD card support back when I was first dabbling in homebrew and wasn't sure what I'd do with it. I've upgraded "smart" ever since, as well as patched the Wii with all the necessary bugs that essentially make it work like 3.2 as far as homebrew is concerned, while still having all of the 4.0+ features. It might not run EVERYTHNG, but it runs everything I'm interested in and then some. Though to be honest, I don't think I'm going to bother updating shop channel anymore unless some truely epic N64 titles get released, and something tells me that by then, I'll be able to just use the emulator.

The shop channel was basicly Nintendo's way of forcing you to update. To bad for Nintendo that we have Dop-SHOP and WiiSCU

That's what I've been doing, hence the "smart" update. I'm just saying that even this is not worth the effort if I never use the damn thing.

Everyone! I got HBC on 4.3! victory alas!
It is a very rough process that takes many many tries, but the end result is worth while.

Yes, my wii still is 4.3 so I didnt downgrade the system menu.

The problem I encountered in my previous post was that HackMii installer could not find the proper IOS to install homebrew so I had to download IOS 41, 80, 36, so I could downgrade/replace IOS 236 with IOS 15.

New Hackmii installer released today. Enables HBC to be installed on 4.3, updates Bootmii, and fully supports Korean Wiis.

When will this game of cat and mouse end between homebrue and Nintendo?
I can already tell what the next Nintendo update is going to be about.

Nintendo can't win this battle. The Hackmii person possesses intimate knowledge of NAND flash construction, and the latest rulings about jailbreaking being legal means they can't C&D it out of existence anymore.

The only way to really get an upper hand would require literally changing the hardware of the console.
