I am a Die hard new super mario bros. wii fan, I have all hint movies, all star coins, and all secret goals unlocked, I can not beat the finale level: 9-8 it consists of several cloud-trampolines and everywhere there are clumps of coins in the shape pf waluigi's
hat logo (a circle with an upside down L in it) ONLY if you manage to collect all of the coins in a hat logo, when you die, instead of Mario you will hear waluigi say "aww!"
when you die. this is not a joke to try to trick you into busting your ass searching for him, I just thought it was an interesting easter egg. I dont know, maybe you see a cut-scene with him if you beat the level. Inform me of any news on this topic. Or inform me if you have expierenced this yourself.

I just searched both Google and GameFAQs and couldn't find a single mention of Waluigi, excluding those odd coin formations. If he was in there, someone would have found him by now (probably Treeki).

I also couldn't find a single mention of the Waluigi voice sample you mentioned. If it turns out you're pulling our legs, I'm nuking this thread from orbit.

You do know if you circle the "Eternal Star" in mario 64 10218 times Luigi will burst out of the star. Also, the Triforce is under frozen Zora's Domain.

uh actually the many upsidedown L coin formations do exist, as well as formations of coins of huge bullet bills in rock.

Thought you said "including".

Well, guess what? If you beat 9-8 with 301 seconds left on the timer, you'll unlock the secret world 10, Bullshit Land! Beating levels in world 10 will give you fun secrets like Waluigi in NSMBW, Luigi in SM64 (if you have the VC version) -- and when you collect every star coin, you'll unlock World -1!

This reminds me of the rumor mill back on newsgroups in the mid-to-late 90s... there was stuff like reviving Aerith in FF7, getting Schala in your party in Chrono Trigger, and of course Luigi in SM64 and Knuckles in Sonic 1 (keep in mind that this was long before the Sonic hacking scene came about...)

If you get all 251 stars in SMG1, then you unlock the ability to put the game disc in upside down. When playing like this, all the gravity in the game is reversed!!!!
