Finally got a chance to see this movie and I really enjoyed it.

The Star Wars ref was fantastic!

Will probably see this Tuesday. I've heard mixed reviews about it though, so I don't really know what to expect. As long as it's not too teenybopper I'll probably be happy though.

I wasn't sure at first, but that trailer just settled it: I want to see it.


Though I can't help seeing Nicholas Cage standing out as just being Nicholas Cage with long hair and magic powers.

This movie does look intresting but I have a feeling that I would just forget about watching it once I click out of this thread, usally happens to me when a movie gets brought up in fourms.

I saw it last week. It is actually a decent fantasy movie. They do a good job of explaining the bac story and then getting right in to the action. Its not cheesy at all and the humor is good. The characters are believable and Nick Cage does a good job of making you think magic is real. I would recommend this to anyone, its a fun movie.

Just got back from seeing this. I pretty much agree with Orlandu. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I think Nicholas Cage actually worked really well with this role. I also like how they paid homage to the original Sorcerer's Apprentice. The villains are pretty one-dimensional though, and I figured out where they were going with the plot about half way through. There were also things that I wished they explained more, or got into a little more detail with. All in all though, this is a good fantasy/special effects movie as long as you take it as is and see it for fun. Movie critics and others who analyze films would probably hate it though, especially since one of the first things you see in this thing is blatant product placement and Disney advertising.
