What people are failing to realize is that much of the fault of this whole stink lies with Constance, not her mistreatment by the school district, but her crazy-reckless need for attention.

this is a lot like saying that Susan B. Anthony should've been thrown in jail because she wanted all the attention, not because she was unfairly discriminated against

The sad part about this is that if it was just the handicapped students, this would be all over the news with neigh-unanimous disagreement with how this happened.

Actually, I find the... disabled people (what is the proper term here?) to be the more questionable of the two. You can argue whether the reason you excluded one person was because you dislike them individually all you like (high school students in large numbers, stupid decisions), the problem arises when you lump in a bunch of other, completely unrelated people. Suddenly it's no longer "students disliking one person who brought down a bunch of unwanted attention", it's "students actively discriminating against a group".
