So this thing was just unlocked today, anyone had a chance to try it yet? I expected it to be a Smash TV clone but it's a lot more involved than that. The exp system is pretty cool, and I love how stats are displayed at the end. And the price is right.

I'd be playing right now if the game would actually run on this PC. Keeps crashing to desktop... I'll try it on the laptop later tonight.

Looks to be very good though.

Played it. The offline practice is underwhelming, I'll have to try it with friends sometime.

Also, as a note: if you get stupid errors like "the game is currently unavailable" when you try to start, switch your content server. I moved from US-Seattle to Russia-Central and it worked for me.

This is also a good trick if the servers are getting slammed and your download goes incredibly slowly.

Lots of people are having various crash bugs, including the game refusing to load on AMD Athlon XP processors (like mine) giving a .DLL error for no apparent reason. Said people who are reporting it can run L4D2 on their rigs with no problems, so that's a strange one.

I think they needed to do more testing before release. Looks like there'll have to be some sort of patch on the way.

Runs half-decently on my piece-of-crap laptop, but I can't really know how it plays for sure until I've A. Gone online, and B. Tried it out on our good gaming-worthy rig.

Not surprising. Given that they "announced" it only a few days before release . Knowing Valve they'll have most of the major problems with the game patched up before the weekend...

I haven't yet played online but offline ... man there are way too many controls to bind. I'm one of those people that doesn't use wasd because my hands are too big and they get in the way. I haven't found an acceptable way to remap everything yet but I really want to because this looks like it would be pretty fun online.
