Finally, I'm able to take my cats to the vet next week, Tuesday. Thing is, they've been flagged as problem cats. As in, they bite.

This means that they have to be put under while they give them their shots and to make sure that they are alright.

This worries me but I know everything will be alright.

The most our cats ever did was hide under the desk. The vet we went to was pretty cool as far as handling animals was concerned. She'd let them out and then gently treat them, then let them hide again so they'd feel safe.

Edit: Then again, they never bit anyone. So maybe that technique (let them hide so they're more comfortable) won't work on your cats

Aww, poor kitties Hopefully everything turns out all right for them.

My mom's cat wouldn't bite, just scratch. My parents almost never took her to the vet other than to get her fixed.

My mum had got a new cat (shanel) a couple of years ago following the death of our other 2 cats (Tigar 15 and Susie18) and she was never fixed and got pregnant with 4 kittens, and one or her offspring Spot (the one we didn't sell) is probably in need to get nuted soon, though it's been about 2 years and he hasn't not gone stray yet and is the most polite well mannerd cat I currently own

If the vet can't keep the cats under control without putting them under, time to find a new vet me thinks. If you're not good with all kinds of animals, don't be a vet. I know some pets are shy/protective/scared of strangers. But my vet can keep just about anyone's animal under control. They only have to put them out for actual surgeries, not just shots. Its dangerous anytime they have to go under, but just for shots? They're asking for trouble.

Thing is, I can't hold my cats when the vet is trying to give them a shot.

I think I'm going to call my sister-in-law in VA, she's runs her own practice.

The orange cat, Zell eats very strange. He grabs the food, puts it on the floor and then eats it. He had trouble eating when he got home so I put some of the food on the floor. Since he can't walk well, it was like a cat on a ice skating rink and the food was displaced.

Zell thinks he's okay and he keeps jumping off and onto the bed. When he jumps off, he stumbles. So far he's hit the blinds and the TV stand.

The brown cat, Tidus, has been on the bed for a few hours. He's a bit smarter when he knows that he doesn't feel well. When he had an issue with his eye, he didn't scratch at it and slept it off. So I think he knows that he's safer staying on the bed.

Both cats are sleeping. I hope this wears off by tomorrow. The doctor said it shouldn't be more than 24 hours.
