I must admit, I was highly surprised that there was no topic for this one.

I went into DQ9 myself with mixed feelings based on the general gameplay type. But I must admit, I got quite hooked to the game, even though the story seams quite thin due to no character development. The character customization options is mainly the point that drives me on playing, sure there is a story, but I can't say I have had any interest in yet. I'm also going to admit that I made my whole team look like characters from my latest obsession!

Still though, totally worth a try if you're into RPGs for the gameplay rather then the story.

The story gets better the further you get in. I personally like the mini-stories, and the lack of hour long cutscenes. I also really like the battle system, it makes it fun to grind for the money to buy all the items from every town. (I am always over-leveled compared to the boss, so I can be lazy and leave auto-battle on for my party. )

My Party is Bard/Priest/Thief/Mage. I am guilty of equipping sub-standard equipment because things look better together.


I am sad that I have no one to wi-fi with/no way to connect to WFC.

I can agree to a lot of things in your post darkdata, I for one, do also equip what looks good rather then what is good.

And yeah, the lack of hour long cut scenes is not something I'm going to miss either. But the story just ain't very involving, at least not for me.

As for myself, the main character is Bard (can you even make a choice?) other then that I have: Fate - mage, Erio - warrior, and lastly, Nanoha - Priest. I'm assuming the game will be much more fun later on when you can multiclass.
