Your best bet is to try them out in the store. I saw one at Best Buy and it was actually pretty cool. Didn't get to see any 3D games, just movie clips. But if you got the cash, get it.

I've had a nice 23" 1080p Samsung display for about a year (got it as a gift.) It's pretty much a TV without speakers; it has DVI, VGA, and standard composite inputs. It's been especially useful for Photoshop/Illustrator work and games, and the image quality is great even in analog mode.

I see more and more computer monitors running at 1080p though and I wonder if it's going to become the new standard before insane resolutions like 2560x1600 become common.
