Yeah, looking down at stuff bothers the living hell out of me. I couldn't even look over the second floor of my local Borders down onto the first floor without getting kinda freaky-outy.

I'm slightly better now.

I used to have a fear of heights as well, back when my house and school each only had 1 floor, but when I moved to metro Detroit and lived in a high-rise, I mostly got over it

I still get scared if there are totally open windows without even a screen or grillwork separating me from the outside world so far below, like in the Ulmer Münster. I also find that it helps to look ahead rather than down if you're at a great height.
