So I finally got my hands on blaster master today!

So far it's much better then the NES game, in other words, just like it should be!

The game was good and all, then I came to level 3, oh god the music!
Though, if I should nitpick, area threes boss is a pain in the arse, but I will beat it, eventually!

I didn't even know 4.3 was released... then again, I have my Wii set up to block disc updates, meaning no problems running Super Mario Galaxy 2 (which comes with 4.2 I think).

Oh, today's WiiWare/VC stuff:

Jett Rocket (Shin'en, WiiWare, 1000)
Pong Toss Pro – Frat Party Games (JV Games, WiiWare, 600)
Robin Hood: The Return of Richard (Nordcurrent, WiiWare, 500)
Mario Tennis (Nintendo, N64, 1000)

I missed this post.

You missed nothing.

Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising (Legendo Entertainment, WiiWare, 700)
Cruise Party (Enjoy Gaming, WiiWare, 800)

Sounds fairly pointless, really. Blocking all those hacks will just cause new ones to be found. When was the last time one of these actually improved console performance/added something useful, again?

How many people would like to see an update to the miis but no, we get fucking homebrue fixes for TWO YEARS IN A ROW. Nothings but homebrue fixes, WHY WOULD I WANT TO UPDATE MY WII IF IT DOES NOTHING BUT KILL MY HOMEBRUE and NOTHING ELSE!

Nintendo's failure at software design severely limits the potential for enhancements. Still, it's annoying that all they do is release "updates" that do nothing but kill homebrew. Not even targeting pirates specifically. Pff.

Well we did (kind of) get SD card support with 4.0, but it sucks along with every other legitimate thing that Nintendo tries to implement.

Saw in the stores the other day, looks like a pointless title.

I'm still waiting for a real pokemon adventure on the wii. Not to mention the wii mystery dungeon games that we heard about waaay back. :/

Only two titles again today, but hey; at least one of them's Toribash, which is a physics-based fighter that might be interesting.

Toribash (Nabi Studios, WiiWare, 1000)
Balloon Pop Festival (UFO Interactive, WiiWare, 800)

I like how Nintendo are giving small developers a break with the Wiiwere. It is nice to know that Nintendo cares about the little people

Possibly the most eclectic group of releases in some time; an arcade basketball game, a game with "Furry" in the title, and Nintendo of all people entering the virtual aquarium world.

AquaSpace (Nintendo, WiiWare, 600)
Furry Legends (Gamelion, WiiWare, 1000)
HoopWorld (Virtual Toys, WiiWare, 1000)

Still no VC releases. Looks like Sunsoft are the only ones ready to support it during the summer; they have Aero the Acrobat 1 + 2 (SNES) and Ufouria (NES) lined up for release.

I have a laptop with a verizon MIFI2200 mobile broadband device, and I was just wondering if any of you would know how I would go about connecting my wii to the internet via forwarding my laptop's connection to the wii, I tried searching for an access point on my wii and it says "no access point found' I understand that wii does not support that kind of internet, but is there any software, tools that may help me?

thanks

You might want to look into the Nintendo wifi USB adapter, which allows you to turn a USB port on your laptop into a wireless access point. It's kind of buggy though, and I think the Wii will only be able to connect as long as your laptop is on.

Look into using the Wii with an ad-hoc network. You need to set up your computer as the host, and be sure to bridge the wireless connection with the wired connection. The Nintendo USB Wifi adapter is essentially the same as the Wifi adapters in laptops, except by default it is configured as an access point.

Mobile broadband is not the same as Wifi, but if you bridge the connection it should work okay. You might need to set up IP addresses manually, since there's no router.

EVERYBODY! HOMEBREW 4.3 NEWS!

I had homebrew on system menu 4.1 and updated it to 4.3, Killed HBC so,
I just tried a new Method to get HBC on system menu 4.3U using SSBB and the whole process worked and then...

I loaded HackMii installer and it said EXACTLY this:

"HachMii Installer v0.6 (c) 2008, 2009 Team Twiizers

This installer can NOT continue!

There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use a fakesigned IOS due to
security reasons.
Look for an updated version at:
http://bootmii.org

if this is already the latest version... well, suck it.

> Exit"

for the record, this IS the latest version
...the bastards

Uh, exactly which part of this link did you not understand?

If you were dumb enough to upgrade to 4.3 while still intending to use homebrew, then pay particular attention to this part

If you want to use the Wii Shop Channel v19, Dop-SHOP and WiiSCU can install it, along with IOS61 (which the channel uses).

How to run a limited amount of homebrew on 4.3
You may use a combination of Indiana Pwns or Smash Stack with Loadmii 0.3 (found at the Loadmii Google Code Page) to run certain homebrew applications.

The process is to use the Indiana Pwns or Smash Stack to load the Loadmii loader, then use Loadmii to select the application you wish to run.
So yeah, your homebrew is pretty much dead until somebody comes up with an effective workaround. Have fun with the one or two applications you can still run in the meantime.
