Originally posted by PeardianBy the way, what does "Atari" mean? Onitsutsu's groupinfo points to something called "OnimasuAtari", with Onimasu being the name for Tox Box. No models of that name exist, however.
This could also mean "to win". As in winning the demon box (鬼升当り).
That seems like the most likely translation. The way to beat it? I wonder what that would have been.
By the way, remember Big Fly? Looks like he has a friend.
MeetBigLarva and BigLarvaCobweb. These have got to be from some other game, because this style is completely different from even the earliest Mario-styled objects in the game. I'm pretty sure these aren't from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, like the bee and, oh, this guy:
BlackMistCreature, better known as the Ghastly King.

I don't know if it's relevant or not, but that thing reminds me of the purple blob in SMG2 which expands into an electric circle on the ground (used in a few of the castles)
I thought that, too. Of course, they are quite different when you look at the new guy closely.
So, me and Techokami were discussing the presence of the giant bugs in the game, and made some observations:
The bugs must all be from the same game
The big big fly has a specular map, which means it is on either the Gamecube/Wii
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and Super Mario Galaxy were both developed by Nintendo EAD's Tokyo division
Assuming Nintendo wouldn't just take assets from other companies, the bugs must be from a Nintendo game.
So please, those of you who can, see if you can find the source of these bugs. Show the images around and see if anyone you know recognizes them. I'll look into the possibility that they were inherited from Jungle Beat's assets.

If you can view them as icons on windows, why dont you check the info on when the file was last modified. assuming it has not been edited, the original file must be from a game that was in development at that time.
Hope that made sence
Hmm, I swear I've seen that larvae somewhere else before. (looking through Nintendo's releases on the gamecube, nothing fits the style of what that model is)
Remember how I found the purple Topman texture on Topmaniac? I just found something better.
Yep! It's his original body! It goes under the name TogeBegoman. My guess is it reused the normal spiked head from the Red Topman. There are 9 more models with Begoman in the name, and they're all planets. Curiously, 8 of them are "LavaBegoman[...]Planet". If I recall correctly, Topman and Co. appeared in lava places in the beta, so who knows what we might find.
But wait, that's not all!
TwoLegWalker - a very very very basic two-legged robot thing made of untextured primitive shapes. No idea of the scale, but it's worth mentioning that Digga-Leg is referred to as TwoLegs in SMG2.
TwoWheelTank - A cup-shaped vehicle with two tires out to the side and Mario's M logo on the front.
DevilTail - not actually sure what this is, need identification once I get a hold of it
RVCon - BETA WIIMOTE MODEL
Donketu - Bully from SM64. You've probably already seen him on Mariowiki.
DonketuKing - Recolor!
IronBall - Beta Chomp!
IronBallSpin - some kind of spinning effect used by the chomp
IronBallBossDonketu - Beta Chomp that appears all black. I have a feeling there's something more about this thing, but I'll look into it later.
Pics and further details on all these tomorrow!

Guys, remember a while back, that planet with the cross and stuff? Well hackers were able to put these into the game somehow, and play in the levels! The gravity is really messed up, seeing as thought it replaces another planet, thus keeping its original gravity, but its a step forward. Who knows, maybe we could put all sorts of things into the game? Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07WPIseZUYA&playnext_from=TL&videos=nJsSNmLUfvY&feature=sub
Theres another beta level he got working also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ok0hoTyGsm8
Both of them are pretty cool.

What if you were to replace a flat planet beyond the start of the Galaxy, and Boo Mario hover (it can be done; I used it to get to the waterballs in Good Egg at one point) to the new planet? That seems like it'd work...
Oh yeah, that would have made it impossible to use in normal levels without breaking everything, wouldn't it?
Guess what? Pictures-a-plenty.
Yeah, you've probably seen him already. The recolor is indeed bigger.
A texture from the IronBall models. The models are basically just beta Chomps, with one being slightly larger. Both of them have the back/sides of their teeth modeled as individual objects, as well as the inside of their mouth. There's a twist, though. Both models are still smaller than the final Chomp model, though they have a better eye texture. But wait, there's more. All of the modern Chomps have the same mouth features. Even though they completely lack animations, they have the potential to open their mouth. Admittedly, I did not check to see if it was rigged.
What is this thing? Can anyone help me identify it? It's not very large at all, maybe around Mario's size. It's called "DevilTail".
Hello, Wii remote!
Vehicles!?
More vehicles!?
Everything but the Devil Tail is already up on the wiki.
