	It is likely the case that if the installation of WindowsXP has remained the same while you upgraded all the hardware, you will need to reinstall windows. I remember I did a byte for byte copy of my windows xp partition from one HD to the next (i.e. swapping HDs the xp partition lives on), and windows refused to boot after that.

Okay... two things... One, I can't get it to stop rebooting on errors (F8 does nothing), and two, he has no disc to re-install XP Pro with, so that's currently out of the question... Now, though, I have a new problem... I decided to take his old Motherboard and Power Supply, and put them into my computer... the only problem with this is that even though I have everything connected properly, it will not power up. The Processor is twice as fast as my old one, and the PS is 50W more powerful. He was able to power that motherboard and three devices (HDD, CD-RW, and Floppy), but I can't even get it to power up with no devices at all! Nothing happens... At this rate, I may need to just get myself a Laptop and forget about desktops until I get my job (soon, hopefully)... ____________________ I am too lazy to care about post layouts...also, I don't know how to do them...

Did you perform a new install of Windows, after putting the new mainboard in ? When replacing a mainboard, a re-install of Windows should follow. Especially, if the new MB has another chipset than the old one, I strongly recommend that. Of course you need not to format, just a normal Windows installation should do it (though you need a valid serial number for that), a repair install is not sufficient. This also has the nice side-effect of removing faulty system files and probably eliminating some errors you might have experienced previously (not these bluescreens, in XP they usually only pop, if something really bad happens - like damaged drivers, broken RAM, HDD failure and such).

Well, his old MB and Power Supply are now working properly in my box, no re-install of windows needed. I can't seem to get the integrated sound to work, though... On the other hand, my brother's copy of XP Pro was installed for him, but he never asked for the disc it was installed from after that, so he's kinda stuck without a desktop... He does have a brand new laptop now, though, so it's not quite as bad. ____________________ I am too lazy to care about post layouts...also, I don't know how to do them...

	No, it's being detected, it's just that now, trying to install the driver for it crashes the computer.
