Originally posted by Reimuguess who just beat it Fun game really, similar to yet easier than Megaman in my opinion. Although there's apparantly some...shit about a secret boss that I should have beat but didn't even know existed beforehand...? Also what are potions for (plus! Your opinion on each character) Originally posted by Kitkid how far'd you play through that game Fish are only Phase 1 of that game The creatures you have access to change based on the Era you're going through, and I can tell you right now you aren't beating the game without going to another Era. (this info brought from only playing through said fishy era) Originally posted by Xkeeper I remember I tried to play through this sometime after you released your LUA video of it. I got...decently far in it, but when it came time to go deep well diving DEATH DEATH DEATH. Sucks to go down there. I know one game I enjoyed quite well, but it's not as much obscure as it is hated by the consensus of the series it belongs to. Doubt that's good enough reason to mention it, but it apparantly does a good job of keeping people from playing. ____________________ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Posts = 2620 Age = 1080 Lv 79 Exp 4408136 / 4579467 LvExp 25910 / 197241 (13.1%) PostExp = 2523 ExpTime = 42.354 |

Originally posted by Madman200Originally posted by Reimuguess who just beat it 1. Yeah... but I had the luck of playing it before Megaman, and it was awesome. 2. Unless you mean the magnetic magenta small wizard which is in one actual secret level. 3. Potions restore the character's HP. Sounds simple, but it becomes much more important in Normal where characters can die (for a level...). They can be revived if they have a potion. 4. Kikira (dragon) is awesome. Second is KO (mouse) becouse if you are skilled enough you can kill everything with him in seconds. Third Gamm becouse his backstory is cool (he used to be a thief, attacked KO, drank one of his potions and became that, and eventually went to hiding in the caves in regret). Samson is boring. I know the story stuff becouse [trope]ItsAllThereInTheManual[/trope] |

Originally posted by ReimuI haven't done much in the way of Megaman games, I remember that when I rented the Collection disc for GC I beat a total of 1. Maybe 2. Somewhere between 3 and 6, some game there. Will have to try again at some point, but for now... Doesn't really explain how I can use...wait. Normal? I don't remember seeing a difficulty select. Even then when I die it's outright and everything resets (which means I need to switch out before someone is defeated or the boss gets all their HP back) Kind of similar to what I was thinking, except I'm a bit more specific: Samson : Not the fastest, but still fast / Comes with a high jump for dodging whole spreads of bullets at once / Weak straight shot, but it still covers the whole screen / Can climb walls and ceilings, which is required at points / Frequency of use: Usually at the start of a stage so he ends up being the first one to soak up damage, but otherwise when I need to be just straight with shots at distances "Kikira" : Moderate size and reduced speed won't help with evasion / After jumping, can hover in place for a limited yet long amount of time, enabling the crossing of massive pits without any trouble / Shots are similar to Samson's except they curve upwards as they travel / Hold B for a while to charge your attacks--the most damage you can get over a range / Frequency of use: Jumping sessions that hold risk down below or ranged attacks against bosses where I can't just rapid-fire and get away with it "Gamm" : Largest size, weak jumping, and slow speed--don't count on evasion / Starts with and can have the most HP of the game, making him durable indeed / Single punch with good range that goes in all four directions--has high attack, so if you get in a boss's face you can rip them apart (so to speak) / Frequency of use: Mandatory spike sessions and point-blank boss battles, but not much else KO The Mouse : Fast and small with a decent jump--learn to move and evade bullets to survive / Starts with almost no HP and never goes past the first bar--stop taking hits already / Makes like Bomberman and lays bombs that go off over time (explodes from right to left) or when an enemy runs into them--does good damage / Also climbs walls and ceilings, except faster than Samson and can fit into small gaps that everyone else can't / Frequency of use: Often the one I use, usually I learn if an enemy is mobile or not before starting to attack it though good for you ____________________ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Posts = 2624 Age = 1081 Lv 79 Exp 4419787 / 4579467 LvExp 37561 / 197241 (19.0%) PostExp = 2526 ExpTime = 42.272 |

| Prohaps it is the name; 'Little Samson', I mean sometimes a name can have a subconscious effect how people think of the game, or I am I just talking sh*t. |

Originally posted by ReimuDid I say I -just- beat it before? Because I meant a few days ago before that post. So my memory (which spanned two sessions' worth of gameplay) wasn't that perfect. On that fight...I just used Sam to dodge the attacks since he had more stamina (he can duck too). Soon as the last shot were fired, I'd swap back to Gamm and use his hammer made of machine gun. Repeat: bad memory So the potions are supposed to be automatic, or, some shit? Because I remember picking up one on each character and they just sat there for the whole game doing nothing (and I did have deaths, sometimes via 6HPdmg). Doing something wrong? ____________________ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Posts = 2627 Age = 1081 Lv 79 Exp 4427427 / 4579467 LvExp 45201 / 197241 (22.9%) PostExp = 2528 ExpTime = 42.200 |

| Ah, down. Go figure, I never tried to press that. Now I know.
You...remember me talking about my nephew, right? How do you think he'll fare with playing this? (Or should I just not try) ____________________ -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Posts = 2628 Age = 1081 Lv 79 Exp 4430045 / 4579467 LvExp 47819 / 197241 (24.2%) PostExp = 2528 ExpTime = 42.177 |

| How many of you played Plok for the SNES, that too was one of my most played games when I was young. |

| Traysia for the Genesis. Very obscure such that back when I was first playing it in the late 90s/early 2000s, there wasn't even a complete game walkthrough up on GameFAQs (for a game released in 1992). Hilariously, the author of the most complete walkthrough was stuck at the same place I was. It's been completed since then, and I've now beat the game at least twice, with the second runthrough recorded and uploaded to YouTube.
As for how obscure it truly is? Outside of a couple of videos which showcase many Genesis games, I am the only one with gameplay videos of it on YouTube, and am the only full playthrough of the game on there as well. ____________________ |

MaxKnight: I was going to mention that... but yea, that is quite the obscure game. Too bad the Genesis/Mega Drive didn't have very many RPGs... =/
Alisia Dragoon, a pretty good (but hard) platforming game for the Sega Genesis with no relation to the Panzer Dragoon series, is pretty obscure too, AFAIK... it was one of my favorites on the Genesis. =) Edit: Duh, how could I forget Clockwork Knight 1 and 2? Those games are pretty cool, and they always remind me of Toy Story for some reason. =P ____________________ YouTube • DeviantArt • The Left Mouse Button |
