Anyone else?

I'm moving into my apartment on the 15th and decided to buy all new furniture since my current shit is.. not so nice. Got my desk and dresser and a nice lamp this morning for right at $300.

God I love that place.

It'd be interesting if all Ikea stores are made of flat pack furniture.

I spent about £1,200 2 weeks ago on furniture and desk shit. It's pretty addicting when you find something you like then find a complete furniture set that follows that style, but have to dump shit because you don't have room for it

Yeah, I've got a feeling my next few paychecks are going to primarily be spent at Ikea.

I want a super special awesome double bed

I tend to find that the quality on most products from ikea is quite low, then again, I don't know what you people have to compare too.

My feelings on Ikea's quality can be summed up with a response I found on WikiAnswers.

"Ikea furniture is usually of better quality than similarly priced pieces elsewhere. There are many places to buy higher quality furniture, but they generally cost a lot more."

I'd say that's a more than accurate representation of Ikea a whole.

Granted, if you spent less than $100 on a dresser there, yeah, it's going to be the lowest of the low quality particleboard and won't last more than a year probably. However, I've found the quality of most things to be superb. My desk I'm using now is a solid wood top with legs screwed into it, both from Ikea.

You know, one of these days, I'm going to spend a Saturday shopping in Bergen County, New Jersey... there's a lot of outlets, and Ikea, there. =D

(I can't do this on a Sunday, AFAIK... unless they lifted that law recently or something...)

No Ikea in Las Vegas. But I did visit one when we went to New York last year. My brother and his wife had to take us since we had never been to one before. They have some pretty interesting stuff and a lot of very clever space saving concepts. Small sectionals turning in to full sized beds, hide-away compartments for small kitchens, desks and chairs that fit together when not in use.

I don't think the store would be quite as popular here in Vegas, since we tend to have more houses than apartments. But if you really want your Ikea, theres always a trip to LA or just order online.

I can't say I've paid enough attention to remember whether Ikea is around here.

Do they sell customizable clocks? If so, that'd explain mine.
