This is kinda cool. And who knows, maybe when it's finished we can use it on the wiki to directly link nsf files into the page! </pipedream>

Holy shit! That's amazing! It sounds completed in its current state, I could see it added now in fact...

Sounds nice... even though I hate Flash, this player was still executed nicely. A Java NSF player wouldn't be too hard to make, either... but it's a bitch to code in =/

I've seen a Java MOD player on Mod Archive, and that seems to be mostly accurate...

I think this is the same player I saw a few months ago, in a much rougher form. It uses blargg's pAPU emulation code, so it should be pretty close to perfect.

Flash is a bad thing on the interweb, but I will not agree that Java is better. It has security holes all the time, and the update size is larger. (Dial-up, gooo!)

That, and if you are using a browser that is not IE, you get a -chug-a-chug- as it gets ready.

How about a full-blown NES emulator in Javascript?

...except JS provides no way to play dynamically-generated sound, so it has to feed the sound to a Flash object anyway.

Player's definitely a bit buggy; this was the last thing I looked at last night before going to bed. The NSF kept playing after FireFox was closed.

I think that's just browser specific, I don't get that problem when trying it in Opera

As for JSNES, it lags like hell on Opera but the sound works fine for me, so don't know what you're speaking about

Yes, it uses Flash for the sound. And yes, it's very slow.

Hello all, I hope you don't mind us popping in here. We're the creators of FlashNSF. I'm glad you think it's cool. Feel free to use it on your site.

@Colin, if you've got a minute, could you let us know what version of Flash and Firefox you are running? I'd like to track down that bug.

Thanks!
