Yes, based on your favourites / recommended for you.

My ads just offer me music and shoes, like I'm some kind of music addicted hobo

Vevo is annoying, especially when they force it on you for a lot of music videos (namely Sony and Universal... WMG, EMI and indies are smart enough to use the standard player, at least =/)

Also, most of the ads I get on YouTube are those ones that pop up like 15~30 seconds into a video, not the full-size ones at the beginning, too.

The only ad that I've ever clicked on was one that actually net me some pretty decent cash... probably about $7000 in total now. The ad was placed on facebook and was actually related to what I've been looking for an hour prior. I'm a lab rat test subject now. lulz

I click on a lot of ads, since usually the ones I see are ones relevant (games, webcomics, whatnot).

I don't see the difference between vevo's and the standard media players

The Vevo player starts out with the grey VEVO screen before the video plays, has VEVO in the corner, and for some reason turns much of the page's background black around the video.

At least that bug where the "part loaded" indicator would always say it loaded the whole video has been fixed

AdBlock is great. I can't tolerate browsing the internet without it... especially since so many sites are full of ads. I'm fine with Jul's because they're not in your face or overused (at the bottom of the page except on the index page) and they're not intrusive. Jul is the only site I've whitelisted. (I'd whitelist Project Wonderful in general, but AdBlock for Chrome doesn't seem to let me do that... )

I never click ads, anyway, except for the PW ones on Jul (and even then only rarely).

You know what also drives me insane? Those sites where random links are turned into hover ads.

I grew up in a world with popup ads. They forever ruined my trust of ads.

But now my stupid thing is broken and blocks not only decent ads, but also cookies I actually want to use.

I rarely see popup ads anymore, just those that somehow go through Chrome's popup ad blocker... =/

I hate it when pop-ups go through chrome's blocker. But those mostly seem to be the ones that are rigged to go up when you click on a navigation link. Sneaky little bastards must have stuck the pop-up code there so it wouldn't be caught by some blockers.

What annoys me about Chrome is that if there is a blocked pop-up it will still "process" it. I've had situations where I've had a talking ad start at me and I didn't know where it was. Until I realized it was a blocked pop-up. Irritating, to say the least. Hasn't happened in a while though, maybe they fixed it?

Wait ... popup ads still exist?

I haven't seen one in years... and I don't even go out of my way to block them (aside from Chrome's default popup blocker, and whatever stuff AdBlock does)

I remember a lot of old message boards that would pop up a new ad with every page view ProBoards were known for that.

Also, double-underline rollover links can die. Actually, rollover anything can just die. Moving the mouse from one part of the screen to the other involves the mouse pointer moving over whatever is in its way, and that movement should not be interpreted alone as some kind of system command.

Anyone else remember those ezBoards? Those were annoying with popups... glad nobody really uses them anymore (most people who need a free board system these days just install an SMF or MyBB on their server rather than using ProBoards or ezBoard or anything similar...)

Why yes. Ezboards would be precisely one of the reasons I became averse to all ads, ever.

Sonic 2 Beta was one, long ago...

Well ages ago it used to be a lot more difficult to get a good sql host / whatever and people found it easier just using proboards since it took like 3 seconds to set up.

I hope no one ever uses invision / forumotion / pro/ez boards ever again

It used to be that most free PHP hosts were really bad, or didn't allow SQL, or shut down Web sites without notice constantly. And a lot of people couldn't run home servers when dialup was common.

I should put a project wonderful ad in my signature, generate some cash too

No idea if that'd work, though.

Paulguy's Post configuration
So the game itself is $10 but their bid was higher than that? There must be something about this system that I'm missing.
