It's the day when Americans have barbecues and watch fireworks (or reflect on how the US government has deteriorated over 234 years). Does anyone have any plans for Independence Day?
I'd like to watch Seattle's fireworks, but I don't know if I will.
My parents are going to Hurricane Harbor. I'm gonna spend tomorrow recuperating from my five-mile walk.
Perhaps I'll go down to 7-Eleven and get a hot dog. :V

Fireworks were on the 3rd for some reason.
People generally like to do fireworks on the 3rd if the 4th falls on a Sunday, for religious purposes. I, for one, tend to not give a shit and blow stuff up anyway. For instance: It is tradition for me to go buy some dry ice (which is fun trying to do on the 4th, because nobody will sell it to you) and go out to the desert and blow shit up.

I went to the Moorings restaurant. Nothing to do with Independence Day, my grandparents are celebrating their Ruby Anniversary. Wow. 40 years without killing each other. I don't know how they do it.

And yet, the galaxy is STILL fucked.
I get to work on my 4th. Yay. At least there will be a hotdog vendor there and I'll get to enjoy my hot long meat thoroughly on this fine independence day.
Worked 10am~5pm (left early), got time and a half for working today (I get that on all holidays at Staples), and I'll be leaving again in another hour (going out with my girlfriend tonight... =D)
I'm over with the registers and customer service... trust me, working for eight hours can get boring... especially when few customers are coming in... =/
Hey, I'm right there with you on that one. I used to do a shitton of that over at OfficeMax... but I had phases where I'd do not only that but just about everything else in that store. Like print/copy/desktop publishing, stocking, sales, etc... pretty much everything in the store. Kept things alive for 2.75 years until my manager decided to start being a little penis to me and I quit.
with all the mentioning of porn you've done today I guess someone would have had to do that job for you
I have a job starting september at the hospital social work department for filing / internship. Luckily it's part time work so holidays aren't included
Fireworks were on friday for me, so today was totally uninventful. The city I live in has a festival thing with carnival rides and bands and such though. I was there on friday before watching the fireworks.
As for actual Independence Day, I didn't even realize it WAS Independence Day until like 9PM since I spent all day doing yard work. :V

You didn't notice people setting off explosives?
I'm probably going to try buying fireworks at superdiscount tomorrow. I figure they'll be on super-sale at the stands. Unless there's a law preventing the sale of fireworks after the 4th, that is.

You mean the big professional display? I read in the paper that a few cities that couldn't have a show last year (due to weather, finances, etc.) exploited a clause in their contract with the fireworks company that allowed them to reschedule the show up to 364 days later without having to pay hefty fees. I dunno if your city falls into that category, though.
As for me, I went with my fiancee to my grandpa's lake house for barbecue and general yammering, then headed back into town for the big 10:00 fireworks show. Got a pretty good spot on top of a parking garage. The finale was pretty awesome, they saved the big flash bombs and other noisy fireworks for last and shot them all off in a big cluster. It was bright, loud, and satisfied the pyromaniac in me. (Until next year.)
Parents didn't go to Hurricane Harbor, I was stuck in the house with nobody to hang out with and was incredibly bored.
Oh well, I had my fun yesterday.
