I got (well, bought myself) a new Mac mini today. It is a fast little machine and whisper quiet and uses less energy than most light bulbs. Plus now I finally have more USB ports, a FireWire 800 port, a dual-layer DVD-burning drive, and a 64-bit Mac that can actually take advantage of Snow Leopard's optimizations.

2.4Ghz late-generation Core 2, 4GB 1067Mhz DDR3 RAM. Integrated GeForce 320M, but I'm not using the machine for anything more intensive than Photoshop so it's not a big deal. 320GB hard disk is plenty when complemented by my external drives.

Basically the mini is replacing my MacBook Pro, which is now rather old and just ... not quite up to the things I need it to do anymore.

Awesome, Bagel... even though I'm not particularly fond of Apple anymore... DVD±RW DL writing is always a plus, as well as FireWire 800 (I don't think I have a FW800, or any FireWire, port on here... just six USB 2.0 ports; this computer doesn't even have PS/2 ports. =P)
