Goddamn speaks for itself. Seriously, $500 for simply exercising your right to privacy?!

Absolute Fucking Bullshit

Yea, I mentioned my distaste for it in IRC.

Then again I remember the 'using sound to screw with a person' in a very bad way as well. G20 Summit is messed up.

One of my friends goes University of Pittsburgh. During the G20 conference there... it was absolutely despicable.

I ended up writing a paper on it. I felt that I was fairly generous in my evaluation of the police forces involved there.

But giving police this much power... I don't see it going well...

Oh today's gone VERY well there...

At a busy intersection in the city's core, a large contingent of police have boxed in a group of about 200 people in heavy rain. They are not being allowed to leave the area unless they agree to go into police custody.

A CTV News cameraman reporting from the scene was taken into police custody, but was released later.

Some who had been held inside the make-shift human corral, located at Queen Street and Spadina Avenue, said that they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. When rain began to pour down, many were unprepared.

Note that the protests today appear to be NOWHERE near as bad as the anarchist crap yesterday.

EDIT: Nice photo, no?

In the comments in Colin's Story, from a "Mike":

My point of view is unique as far as I can see on the news, I was arrested at 8pm last night. I am a university student that wanted to go down to visit his girlfriend at bay and front. I got to bay and king at around 7, ( I had stayed in my apartment all day during the violence) and then I took a few pictures, voiced my opinion in a peaceful manner, over 500 meters from the line of riot police. I turned around to leave and 10 seconds later I was jumped and tackled by three undercover police. They bound my wrists with ties and then intimidated me with threats and heckles. "wait until we get you behind closed doors" "nice hat you queer"( i had a straw hat on)" "look at your little chicken legs" I was put in a paddy wagon for 50min in 100 degree heat with my hands tied so tight I lost feeling in my right hand. I was then taken to the detention centre where they had to use special cutters to cut the ties because they were so tight. I have deep marks on my wrists. I was held in a cell alone until 4am and released without charges, there was no water provided, no food. just a cold concrete floor and people begging for water beside me.I have never been arrested prior, was not part of any protest, no weapons, no mask, no black clothing, nothing. I agree that the black mob is not justified in their actions, but having said that the police are also not justified in their intimidation and threats. Snatching bystanders that may look at them the wrong way. Toronto will never be the same, Canada has lost its way. Not because of the political leaders but the out of control police who are accountable to no one! After I got out I went to the hospital because my right hand was still numb, having pins and needles when touched, the doc said I had nerve damage, that may or may not repair itself. It upsets me to hear chief Blair say that his police have done a tremendous job, "that those who committed violence will be held accountable", my questions then who is, if chief Blair is so naive about his own police's tactics going to hold the rouge police to account? For over 8hrs I was denied my right of free speech, a phone call, and common dignity. Please share my point of view.

Ugh...

Looks like each G20 conference is trying to top the last for police brutality and unwarranted violence against innocent people...

Is it that hard to believe that *gasp* some people might just be minding their own business? I understand that the police have been ordered to maintain "peace" (probably at any cost). I get that much. But at a certain point, it just gets ridiculous.

Today was the last day, right?

Last day of the summit? Yes.

Last day of unrest? God only knows.
