I have some questons about this:

-What would you think if you would see anime character, not specific characters, but people with huge eyes, elastic mouth and maybe even a little nose?

-Would you like it?

-Do you think it would be possible in the future? And not with normal make up or facial surgery.

Seriously, there's quite a big difference between the way things look on paper and the way things look in reality. Just about any sort of stylized cartoon character would look quite grotesque if they had to meet the constraints of reality, so it's not just something with anime.

Don't believe me? How do you think people would look if they had large and perfectly spherical heads, implausibly squat bodies, and humongous noses like so many western cartoon characters?

Also you know, an alien made of guts with a similar working mindset would find another alien made of guts adorable.
For that matter, maybe we are all the same, but just see our dimension in a different way.
In fact, maybe each individual percieves reality in a completelly, extremelly different way. How can I know that how I see would look like how would how you look like look to me? Maybe an split second of seeing things the way someone else sees them but keeping your mindset would drive you mad.

So those images are kinda like a machine translation. They translate the words, but leave [trope=UncannyValley]a mess[/trope]. On the other hand, cosplay would be like localization. Not accurate in exact words, but works better.

I think people theoretically could look like animé characters. Big eyes? Disc-like rather than spherical to fit in the head. Tiny nose and mouth? They require less oxygen. (Or perhaps also obtain it some other way, such as through skin?) Not hard to imagine, but it would be a pretty major restructure of the internals, so don't count on seeing humans looking like that any time soon.

What bothers me is they tend to be terribly skinny. I'd be worried about the health of people that slim.

I won't be at all surprised though to see people getting minor genetic mods for aesthetic purposes within my lifetime. I bet cat ears and tails are a popular one, and I could really go for some obscure hair and eye colours.
