No, believe me, it sucks. Zelda 1 was at least kind enough to say "This is level X" and give you an idea of when to visit, as well as a map, while Zelda 2 gave you... nothing. Oh, not to mention the horrible levelup system...

Depends on "best". If you mean most memoriable, Link's Awakening DX, definitely. Too many excellent songs in it, and the remixed LoZ dungeon theme as well.
For "best overall", a lot of the Oracle games' music was pretty good, but by no means super-grate. The Oracle games tended to have a bit more variety and flavor overall, but nothing that really sticks in the mind.
