Do you like it? No? If so, what do you like to cook?

I'm not much of a cook myself, but I can make a few things well. Omelets are my specialty, along with grilled cheese. I like to do the "short-order" type and whenever I feel in the mood, I'll buy a few ingredients and make selection sheet for my family to take orders.

My omelet ingredients typically include:
mushrooms
green peppers
sausage
ham
onions
cheese

For my grilled cheese:
ham
roast beef
turkey
salami
tomato
avocado
and 5 or 6 different types of sliced cheese

I can cook rice in a rice cooker, make burgers and hot dogs on the grill (and steak/chicken), and microwavable mac and cheese... thats about the extent of my cooking skills.

Speaking of things on fire...

I was grilling two burgers for lunch and it got to the time where I needed to take them out. I turned off the heat for the grill, which was - at this point - spitting wildy. I turned it down, grabbed a plate and looked back at the grill. The grill was spitting way too much. I walked towards the grill to investigate and nearly had my eyebrows take off by the fireball that came shooting out of the grill.

Apparently, the person who used it last didn't clean the fat out of the grill and the fat combusted. The burgers were fine though, well done on both sides, although one side being slightly blacker.

As long as I have something in front of me that tells me how to do it, I can likely make it okay. I'm kinda so-so.

Will say the worst I had that doesn't count for cooking at all was when I was microwaving a cup of soup only to press 30:00 instead of 3:00. Yea, ten minutes later of unattended will get you a bad smell in the other room. Didn't get the smell out of the kitchen easily.

And I've not really burned cooking either...so it's funny I would do that.

I can follow the instructions on a package or make simple stuff like buttered toast, but that's about it. I was never taught how to cook.

Ah I was always told you want to know how to cook regardless of gender in the same sentiment. I know enough but nothing impressive.

My Harvard-grad law attorney of an uncle can put out one hell of a spread. Just doesn't really fit the bill to me I guess.

My wife can cook, but its the same thing. She just doesn't want to. Her dad (my father-in-law) is a great cook, and so is my dad. We prefer it whenever one of them decides to cook. One is Hawaiian and the other Puerto Rican... Now you know why we like them cooking.

I'm pretty good at cooking, but I probably will never be as good as the people on Food Network. =P

I haven't burnt anything in a long time... think the last time I burned something was way back in 2003 or so...

Hunting kinda comes with cooking skill. MMMmmm, Vinicin.

As for stuff like cakes and other things like that. Not really.

I can also cook a mean breakfast that will knock your socks off. Anyone ever heard of a thrown omlet? The egg is not stirred into it's fluffyness. The egg yolk is the outer layer.

I can make pancakes. And simple things that don't require much more than "put the stuff in a fire until it looks different enough".

Also follow instructions. [trope=OvenLogic]Sort of.[/trope] I tend to add random ingredients to the recipe as well.

I don't get to cook much/at all anyways and it's for myself so yeah, may as well make alien poison for one time I can.
