People love to butcher my last name. It's not Deering, or Derrink.

Here's a hint: It rhymes with boring, and pretend that e is another o. Or learn how to listen to a certain ethnicity in surnames once in a while and change pronunciations accordingly.

I thought it was pronounced "Daring", myself. Although if it's German, the oe is the non-English sound [ø] really.

My last name is Burke, the guy said Brook but corrected himself. Since u and o look similar in my handwriting, I'm waiting for someone to misread it as Borke, like I'm Ye Olde Swedishe Chefe or someone

Paulguy's Post configuration
Nothing but the occasional pualguy, but that's because they're either idiots or made a typo (but more often than not they're an idiot because they spell it wrong every time.).

As for my real name, Paul is pretty common so most people with a couple brain cells to rub together spell it fine and It's never been pronounced wrong. My last name is a bit more difficult, though, and people often spell that one wrong or say it wrong, and ask me to spell it every time even though it's spelled the way it's pronounced. Maybe I don't speak clearly enough...

Always, because few people know how to pronounce the letter x.

Me-me is not hard to pronounce. Sometimes someone spells it meme but... meh.
In the beginning I always thought of it being short e's.

My real name is quite usual so it's never mispronounced. My last name is, but I can live with it.
It's only a pain when I buy something important and the last name have to be right.

Just don't go to Germany, where Paul rhymes with howl

I know the former happens a lot, but I wasn't aware that people dropped the X entirely

My first name is pretty common, and people spell it wrong only occasionally (s instead of z, but it really doesn't matter). As for my last name, I am surprised if someone gets it right the first time. I normally congratulate the successful people, too.

I discovered recently that a friend apparently thought my name was "Theron", like Charlize Theron, for months now. Then, when I spelled it out a few people were confused, like "There's a Y?"

My last name is "Alwardt" which is commonly mispronounced and mispelled. One time I got a certificate with "Award" instead of "Alwardt" because that's what MS Word's spellcheck suggests.

Was it an award? "We present this award to Award!".

Yeah, some names are challenging. I once knew someone with the nice short last name of "Ary", then got married and decided to adopt her husband's really long Polish name that people couldn't pronounce or spell. It was even put on a spelling test, I think as an extra credit word.

Mine has a few possible spellings such as "Berk", so I usually spell it out if it's important.

Yeah. It was presented to Alexander Award.

My girlfriend's last name is "Okerhjelm" and it is VERY commonly mispronounced and spelled. It in itself is even a bastardization of the original name. (Which I don't know off the top of my head... but I believe it starts with "Ao")

"A horrible person". That's what it says. "A horrible person."

We weren't even testing for that.

The letters a, s and d are right next to each other on the keyboard. Therefore, misspellings are almost predetermined to occur.

Just about everybody here screws up my username in some way (not that I mind in the slightest: It adds to the humor) and a LOT of people in real life call me Jeremy which is NOT my name.

They also leave the "h" out of Jeremiah. Meh.

It's a given because you have a long username, Ork Warboss of Crabbydeff.

If someone has a difficult name I just copy and paste like I did above

I just call him Crabbyboss due to not even remembering his other usernames, let alone the current one...

My usernames are difficult to mispell, considering they are... 5 and 6 letters. If anything you guys would've trouble with the soft r and sylables but eh, same deal as Hiryuu.

As for my given name, I don't like it anyways so I don't care. Though they tend to either accentuate it wrong or just merge it with the surname and make up random shit.
