I have no need for any sort of office applications right now. If I absolutely need to open a .docx (hello, Web design class), I use MS's free viewer app.

I used just WordPad for the longest time, although over time teachers got more demanding with stuff like headers and footers that WordPad couldn't handle, plus I started to use spreadsheets.

Pretty much everyone I knew at school and such just used Microsoft Word for everything related to word processing, though.
