Does anyone else watch this Discovery Channel show? I watch it every once in a while... it's basically a normal-looking taxicab in New York City, but when people get in and specify their destination, the host Ben Bailey turns on the lights and says that "You're in the Cash Cab, the game show that takes place in this taxi."

The contestants have to answer questions on the way to their destination. Get them right and you win more money; however, if you get them wrong, you get a strike... 3 strikes means you're out (literally dumping you out of the cab). There's also the Red Light Challenge and Double Ride rounds... and the double-or-nothing video bonus at the end. =D

An example of the gameplay

I've seen a few episodes, but I'd hate to be needing to get to my destination in a hurry with the looming threat of being dumped out of the cab midway through. I'd beg for mercy on that one.

I stopped liking it as much when I found out that some of the contestants are "pre-selected" and some scenes are re-enacted, etc.

This is one of those Discovery Shows I skip. Just doesn't interest me. It, along with Deadliest Catch and Overhaulin' are always airing. Every day. Every week. Forever.

When I go to the bar early, me and the bartender will watch this until Jeopardy comes on.

I watch it most nights instead of that other junk thats on at the same time, aka "the news". Its a fun show, I like seeing people win just as much as I like seeing them get 3 answers wrong and kicked out. Some people are really good and make quite a bit. The record I think is around $3,000 without doubling up at the end. Then some people are really dense and miss easy questions...

It would be quite interesting if they caught a doctor rushing to an emergency. Everything would hit the fan at that point.

Well, this is your last strike before I kick you out, and it looks like you actually OWE me $500. So here it is: Who was the uncle of the 31st emperor of the colony of New Hampshire, France?

It was kind of interesting at first, but after a while the concept just wore thin. I enjoy discovery channel but shows like cash cab and deadliest catch make me wanna turn off my television out of bordom, eh what can you do.
