The 3DS looks amazing. Great hardware (Engadget and IGN report the 3D effects work, if only when facing the screen directly; analog slider[nub]), great games.
Games:
Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater 3D - Engadget reports that MGS 3 looks nearly - if not - as good as it's PS2 counterpart. They say it renders 3D great. They only got to fiddle with the camera, so... but this gets my hopes up. Only thing better than MGS by Hideo Kojima? THREE-DEE MGS BY HIDEO KOJIMA!
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time - While not official yet, there are leaked screenshots around the net.

Mario Kart - Game looks like a Gamecube game, which is awesome. Not only that, but it's Mario Kart, AKA the best racer known to man
Accidental Protege: No joke, I was tempted to make a joke similar to that myself. Great games, great hardware. Not to mention that it's DS backwards compatible (I've skipped most all DS games as of late because of the small screens and bulky hardware of my original DS), so I'll be playing many DS games I skipped. Ya know, I wonder if Super Scribblenauts will have a 3DS brother. I do hope so, though won't be shocked if it doesn't.

IIRC, the new Kid Icarus is for the 3DS. Which is good. I played the original Kid Icarus and I thought it was really good. Why'd it take so long to make a sequel?

Pearldian: I've been thinking the same thing. We'd be getting 360 games on the 3DS. Can anybody say Fallout 3-D? Or how about Mass Effect 3D. Maybe get some GOD OF WAR 3D!!!! Hey, one can only dream, right?
It would be interesting if there was a hardware switch available to developers,
so they could choose to harness the raw power instead of the 3D abilities
I will admit, I was wrong about the graphics. It may not quite be PS3/360 quality, but it sure blows the DSi out of the water. Some of the screens are just amazing for a handheld. Much better than a PSP. Sony has some competition now on the graphics side. You'll probably see N64 and Gamecube roms played on the 3DS eventually.

There's already been several games confirmed to be new to the series. Kid Icarus, Paper Mario, Resident Evil, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Professor Layton... you get the idea.
In fact, I might as well not be complaining about any game at all, but about all those people that are basically claiming the 3DS to be the best thing ever because of old games in 3D

Granted, new old games aren't the best thing in the world, but it would be an interesting experience, especially if they go through with the rumoured Ocarina of Time 3D.

Well the 3DS certainly seems like it will be the best implementation of 3D in games yet. But I agree, just that doesn't make it the best thing ever.
I'm trying to keep any definite decisions on it off until I can actually get my own hands on one. Still really excited to, though.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt here, but to me Ocarina of Time 3D is the same as if Square remade FF7.

It would be more of a gimmick than anything else, but I'd still buy it. Generally, remakes tend to be better than the original. Except for Super Mario 64 DS. That just wasn't as good.

The PSP seemed like its capabilities were underused most of the time. It wasn't super powerful, but some games were just way to basic for it. Most PS1 games looked the same or better. Sony has a high target now for a PSP2 though, which we won't see until E3 2011. We'll probably get tons and tons of rumors before then.
As for the remakes and sequels, it happens on every system. New games can do well in certain genres, but most of the games making big numbers are sequels. And sequels tend to be the same game as the first but with a different or continued story line and a few new features. Thats just how it is.
