I will say Lost in Shadow has me interested. If nothing else for an innovation and something fresh instead of a bunch of rehashes.

Just found out that Gran Turismo 5 is supposed to be in 3D. Seems interesting if you have a 3D HDTV, but probably won't look that stunning on a normal TV since they weren't designed for it. Have to wait and see. Just excited to get a 2010 release date.

Kinda curious about Resident Evil: revelations.

I mean are these really in game, real-time screen shots?

Kind of insane. Looking at that Snake Eater 3D video made me believe the graphical capabilities of the system are better than the psp but this game..

Super Street Fighter IV 3D also looks quite impressive, hopefully a bit better than the iphone version.

Definitely a keeper!

I'm not that overjoyed about the Playstation Move. It's just another set of motion controls, and if you already have a Wii its useless. Unless some games come out that make it really involving, I don't think I'll ever get it.

I imagine all the drum things being hardcore drum solos, and the little dudes going PON PON PATA PON in death metal voices.

Imagine that. Really.

But we can only see until a demo or something.

But I am hoping some warriors will be singing opera metal while the attackers will be screaming metal.

That would be the motherfucker right there folks.

New might and magic coming.

It's called Might and Magic Heroes Kingdom, and it will be a browser sorta MMO.

First up, the basics. Just what is MMHK?

* Ubisoft calls MMHK a "strategic casual MMO." It's turn-based with more of real-time strategy vibe than we've seen in other MMOs and it's designed with people who may only have a few minutes a day to play in mind. Think of something along the lines of multiplayer Civilization with thousands of other people and you'd be near the mark. Now, whether "casual" turns into hours of "just one more turn" is another matter entirely.
* Gameplay and lore from the Might and Magic franchise we all know and love -- the goal with MMHK is just to throw more players into the mix.
* Want PvP? You can do that. Want PvE? You can do that. Want to advance as a merchant-type character purely for the pursuit of wealth without killing your fellow players? You can do that, too.
* Browser-based, which means you can play it on your PC, your Mac, or even your shiny new iPad -- wherever you've got an internet connection. This means there's no software to download or install.
* Free to play with an optional subscription fee. (Though Ubisoft hasn't announced pricing for the game's North American release, it's currently live in France, where a monthly subscription runs five euros.)

Wait what.

That's just like saying that because the Xbox 360 has controllers, it's useless to get if you already have another console.

I mean, motion controls in video games are still relatively new and can be improved on or taken in another direction.

Which I hope will be the case, because most of the time motion control on the Wii was utterly useless or just plain crap.

It may just be me, but I haven't played a Wii game that didn't have motion controls I liked. Take Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for instance. Best FPS I've ever played, primarily because of the controls. What are Sony doing? Taking the exact same controls (C'mon. Their analog stick controller looks the same and the 3mote looks like it has an over-inflated TESTICLE) and they've just ported it to a different game. Microsoft were original, but all I've seen is what regular people do when they watch sports on TV. Except on an XBox. And believe me, that isn't enough to make me get an XBox 360 for the third time.

Pretty much every Wii game that lets you choose controllers played better with the gamecube controller.

Seriously.

And trust me, good has nothing to do with being original.

Oh well, kinda looks like I'm hating on Nintendo for no reason here, but that's because I'm not jumping on the bandwagon of Nintendo fanboys drooling over the e3.

I like the games that use the wii's motion controls as an asset to playing the game, rather than being the whole basis of the control gimmick. Games like Super Mario Galaxy.

The problem with Sony's Move is that since all serious games will use the regular controller, then all of the Move games will end up being games with horrible gimmicky controls.

It's possible, I admit. Yes, in fact, it'll probably happen.

But you don't get it shoved down your throat either. If you want motion control, you buy what you need. If you want normal gaming with decent controllers, you get that out of the box.

Having to buy extra stuff (i.e gamecube controller) to even be able to play normal games has always been something I didn't like about the Wii.

Yeah, I see your point. The Wii definitely has more gimmicky controlled games than others.

And I just remembered that there's a new NBA Jam coming out! They sure passed right over that nonchalantly during the Nintendo conference.

I don't recall any games that actually required you to have a Gamecube controller instead of as an optional alternate controller. Classic controller, maybe, but I thought those games usually had a package with one, such as Monster Hunter Tri.
