Ever won stuff? Contests? Lottery? Random customer review?
Made this thread because from a $1 scratch off I won $21 bucks. I should feel very lucky I suppose.
Back in the 1st grade there was a competition at my library to see who can read the most books (Not kiddie) in a period of the schoolyear.
I won 1st place
I basically won a $50 dollar gift certificate for Toys R Us in which I bought Vectorman on the Genesis.
Also, back when I was at my LAN party days, Columbus State (College) was holding a Halo Tournament. 1st prize winner would get a $1000 gift cert for Gamestop, a commercial opening, and discounts in major resturants. Unfortunately, I got 3rd place. And I gave my ticket to the state tournament to the 4th place winner. (Did, and still don't like Halo all that much). I did however keep the gift cert for Gamestop. I bought a shitty game with it (I forget what it was. But I do remember trading it back in like a week later)
I won a giant stuffed dog once at the end of 5th grade. That's about it, really.
I'm not really sure I've won anything more than $2 off a scratch card (and of course we have none here in Nevada, because in a fit of complete irony lotteries are banned)
In elementary school, I won 2 music class competitions. I know 1 of them was designing some kind of banner (where did my artistic skills go? I used to have them...). Each time, we had a choice of prizes and I went with some really old music books.
As for lottery/gambling, once I won about $200 CAD at a casino, but I've had more losing trips to probably have given that all back by now I won either $20 or $30 on a scratchoff lottery ticket.
I was my high school's valedictorian ... but that school wasn't exactly one of the "top schools" of Puerto Rico
I won (1st place) regional chess competitions back in 9th grade but I lost on the statewides, 5th place...
Ahh, I remember my aunt's tragedy around 4 years ago. She asks her husband to go buy her a lottery ticket and she gives him her lucky numbers, his car wasn't doing so well so he decided not to risk it and instead never went to buy the ticket. Later that day, they announce the lottery numbers and she had them all, exactly right - her husband cost her $11 million dollars... Even I felt that.
1. Canon Power Shot camera from the online version of Mc. Donald's monopoly game.
2. Won first place in a Rock Band 2 competition a few months ago. That gave me a XB360, Halo 3 ODST, Forza 3, and a 42 inch 1080p flat screen TV.
I've won money in the lottery, not much though. The above two are the largest/biggest/best things I can remember winning.

This website, Winzy, I figured I'd test it out for a little while and see if I could actually win anything. I left the site after accumulating some points for searching for a little while and never came back. A few months later they had one of their drawings where they take everyones points and put them in as raffle tickets.
I received an email long after I left and won.
My choices were a $150 amazon gift card or an iPod Nano. I obviously took the money. I forget what I bought with it but I'm sure it was awesome.

I only won a plastic container full of Mini M&Ms back in second grade in a class contest where the winner had to guess the closest, but without going over, (I believe) the amount of said M&Ms. I think I guessed around 450, and there were 500+, or something, but everyone else guessed in the 100-200 range.
I always sucked at those guessing things. I'd go way too low, like I'd guess 100, then think maybe it's 150, then, oh, maybe 170 but that'd be really pushing it. Then, the actual number is like 538.
I won a laptop about four years ago by shoving over 500 ballots into the contest entry box. It was a contest run by Sobeys (a grocery store in Canada) and the way that it worked was that two ballots were drawn from each store in Ontario, and then the two ballots from each of the stores were put together into a giant pile and from that pile 50 winners were picked. I had just started to lose hope in winning when I finally received a call (It took them about four months after the contest ended to finally tell me that I won ).
