There were mashups for at least 2007 and 2008. They often are rather catchy even with some total stinkers in there (like Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" in the 2008 mix).

Not too surprising; mashups are easier to make when the material is of the same genre/year like that.

Although it does have a kind of interesting theme that seems to echo the state of people's thoughts about the recession.
