Just in case you wanted to read your newspaper or books underwater...

Seriously... why would you need to water proof this thing? Its for bath tub / pool use they say... Its an electronic device! Don't freaking use it around water.

Woo, $80. If I had a kindle and needed to use it in the pool, I'd spend maybe $25 on that. Otherwise, I'd just go without. I don't need to use my phone in the shower or whatever... I can go without it for a reasonable amount of time.

Well, I can understand the uses, but $80 USD? Really? That's just overkill. At least the Belkin case only costs $30 USD.

Yes, let's put our faith in plastic that could have an unseen rip in it.

Who has enough of a death-wish to want to use electronic equipment in water?

This is good for all those e-reader using dolphins out there.

honestly the price is a bit much but I can totally attest to bringing my phone to the pool, and, because of the fact that you cant hear it, often bring it closer to the pool side within a towel. still gotta monitor it so water doesn't run in to it etc. but I can totally say it's legit to be using a phone or whatever near water.

Wouldn't it be hard to read the screen with water covering it, even if the actual device is protected?

Besides, I've had a few of those "WATER RESIST" watches generally fail when they're worn in the water

Water resist means you can splash water on it, not submerge it.

As for phones by the pool, mine cost way too much for me to risk that one.
