First one: NO.
Second one: Set the "ID to appear" of the switch you want to be activated the same as "ID to activate" of the switch you want to cause the activation.

Having trouble with star coins, how do you edit star coin hexes in the level editor. It just says 00 00 00. Should I change it to something else.

You have to create a new tileset. It's hard and a lot of work. If you really want to do it, follow these steps:

Go to tileset editor, choose the tileset you want to overwrite.
Then export the graphics, open them with a good graphics editor that supports transparency (NOT PAINT!) and draw the airship graphics there and import them back into the tileset.
Then you build the rest of the tileset, (Map16 tiles and objects). I will not explain here since it's very long to explain. Try to figure out by yourself, its very self-explanatory...
Then save the tileset.

Edit a level and set its tileset to the one you modified. You'll get the objects and graphics you just created.

It works on the 5.0 and 5.2...
