Trying to find a comfortable way to lay down and use my laptop in bed is hard.

And annoying.

Yeah, can't really lay down all the way. Its best if your propped up on pillows and use it on your lap. 2 best pieces of advice I can give for using a laptop (especially with a good video card):

1 - Get a wireless mouse. Bluetooh if you have it, normal if you don't. This is mine

2 - Get a fan/rest for underneath the laptop. It gets hot! Save your laptop and your lap by putting it on something like this

Both of those are out of stock, here are equivalent ones from newegg.com

Laptop Cooler - same one but different color. Disregard that idiot's review. The fan pulls down and vents out the back of the cooler, so there doesn't need to be a big gap.

Mouse - get one like this with a low profile USB connector. Otherwise you have an arm sticking out from your laptop and it can break easily if you don't pay attention.

I have a wireless mouse that I can use and I don't mind the heat on my lap.

It's typing in bed that's the main problem right now.

The laptop cooler helps with that, it angles it up so you can type easier. Better for your wrists, too.

Paulguy's Post configuration
Vision problem makes it difficult to use on anything other than a desk. I can manage to use it on my lap in certain uncomfortable positions, but they're uncomfortable. I mostly just use my phone in bed, anyway,

When I was younger, I'd often use the laptop on the floor. Now, I put it on a desk or table with something under it to keep it raised. Otherwise, my neck hurts over time with having to look so far downward.

I used to sometimes use a laptop on a bed, but it tended to overheat and suddenly shut down.

I tend to lay down on my bed/couch/whatever and pull my legs up to make a "table" for the laptop to sit on. I then rest the bottom part of the computer on my hip bones. The screen is at about a 150 degree angle. I works for me.

Kinda like this
. | <-- Laptop
/|\ \ o <-- me

Obviously the laptop isn't that big but, meh, you get the idea.

My laptop is ALWAYS on my bed right now because it is my main computer.

That, and I had to use my desktop on my bed as well for the longest time. Monitor and tower were on a stand at the head of the bed and my keyboard/mouse was on my bed when in use.
