Also should mention that RedOctane was shut down too.

I don't really care about the GH games anymore so this wasn't such a sad tale (save for the RecOctane part, best soft dance pad I still own) but note that every future GH game will be developed by Vicarious Visions. They did the PS2 and Wii ports of the GH games.

Yeah, both Rock Band and GH have been overplayed. They're still fun sometimes, but the craze has died down. There's not much more you can do with the genre, besides releasing new songs. But thats what DLC is for.

I can't play the GH games. They may be the same genre as Rock Band and they may have done it first, but Rock Band has done it best. Warriors of Rock? Just stick with it being about music, not shape shifting musicians. They tried to branch out of the strict guitar and rock theme with DJ Hero, but it didn't do so well. Expensive peripherals are out, mostly due to the state of the economy.

I still use my GH2 controller (for Rock Band and Beatles Rock Band). I do have a wireless GH3 guitar but it hasn't been working right for awhile.

That's why they are making a second one, right?

Also different team does DJ Hero and they know what the fuck they are doing. Neversoft had nothing to do with it, therefore they didn't screw it up.

GH started going downhill with GHIII due to the shift from Harmonix team to Neversoft, and they have not been able to keep up with Rock Band, which is also starting to become stale.

I don't have hopes for GH6 other than it has Bohemian Rhapsody, but even then there is very very VERY little guitar in that.

If its anything like the drums for Rock Band, then I understand it. For me, being a drummer, its hard to play most songs (especially on any level lower than hard) because you know the beat and want to play it as you hear it. But the game doesn't through in all the beats and playing the whole rhythm throws your score off.

My dad has the same problem with some of the songs on GH3. He keeps going for notes that don't exist on his difficulty *cough*Medium!*cough*

Play 5 songs on hard, then switch back to Easy (or Beginner, depending on the game). You'll feel like time slowed. You'll also wonder why this song was so damn hard the first time

I can play a lot of songs on Expert but not the really fast ones with a double beat. And the one I fail at almost instantly is "Down with the Sickness". Its much easier on guitar, but the drums is a nightmare.
